I consider Find A Grave one of mankind's proudest achievements, up there with air conditioning and anesthesia (seriously -- it's a godsend for genealogists).

Whatever I read in non-fiction, I tend to head here quickly to see if the family has been properly documented and linked. Generally, no -- so off I go.

Always happy to help in whatever way I can -- to pay back a world of kindnesses from others' contributions.

RE: Pedro Munoz
I reviewed the death date, 1910 would most likely been buried in City Cemetery. It was the main cemetery at time frame.
City records list his age as 45 yrs and born in Mexico. Not plot location listed.

RE: Pedro Munoz
Thank you for replying to clarify.
Please keep in mind there are over 25,000 burial listed for the cemetery but only about 5,000 readable headstone.
So, the person can be buried there but no headstone. City records only list plot locations for the main cemetery. There is a potters field that has no location other than potter field a section 900 ft by 100 ft. This was mainly for the poor and a large portion had not durable headstone, maybe a wood marker that rotted away.
I have photoed all or most of the readable headstones and posted them on findagrave.
Good luck with your search.
I'll be glad to help if I can.

Laverne Prill Photo Request
I fulfilled your photo request for, Laverne Prill, today. There is a, Fairlanda, resting beside him, I assume his wife. There is an existing memorial for her ~ http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=25825289. If you would like a photo of her grave please make a photo request with an added note similar to this.
Please, this request is specifically for Michael DeLost to post existing photos. Thank you.
Hopefully, this will deter another volunteer from claiming the request until I can add the photos. I will gladly fulfill. Mike.

RE: other Wolpin family members?
According to Mount Carmel Cemetery records Max & Ida Wolpin are the only Wolpins buried in the cemetery. You might want to inquire from your relatives as to whether Wolpin is the original family name or if it was Anglicized when they got to the USA. If the answer is yes, you might want to find out what the original name was and research from there.

Estelle Griffin at Forest Home Cemetery
Good morning Sir/Ma'am. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to contact Forest Home Cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) for your photo request(s), ask them whether or not there is a grave marker, and then either post this information to the memorial or send it to me.

Forest Home Cemetery: 708-366-1900 or 773-287-0772

Should you choose not to accept this mission, your photo request will most likely continue to go unfulfilled. This message will not self destruct in five seconds. Good luck! Ace

Her memorial: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=112555334

Forest Home is a massively humongous cemetery with well over 100,000 burials, and the information is vital in order to photograph a grave for you. Forest Home disavows all photo volunteers, refusing to aid them in finding graves, so your mission is indispensable and integral to helping fulfill your photo request.

From the Find A Grave Dossier: All personnel are advised that Find A Grave states it is the responsibility of the photo requestor to provide the grave plot (section and lot number) to assist the volunteer photographers.

Mission Success: Last year I successfully completed 200 photo missions at Forest Home Cemetery that had the grave location provided by the photo requestor. In just over a year I have successfully concluded over 1,400 photo missions with over 600 already successfully completed in 2014.

Mission Failure: Impossible

Joseph Sylvester Dowell
Well, give me a pat for trying. I meant Joseph S. Dowell in my request for photo permission, not James S. Dowell. I was looking at my tree and not paying attention to what I need.

I'm also asking for permission for use of the photo of Joseph's wife's, Dicey Taylor Dowell (memorial #69799764), tombstone.

Thank you. Please have patience with me. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and have to backtrack to keep moving forward.

James Sylvester Dowell
Thank you, thank you for uploading the picture for James S. Dowell's tombstone (#105459434). He is my guncle. I remember taking pictures of it several years ago with my mom when she was living and now I cannot put my hands on them. Would you mind if I use your photo on my Ancestry.com and Family Search site? I will give you credit for uploading the originals as Researcher. Whoever you are, again, thank you. I've been trying to get all of my grandfather's family together for a long time.
