I've lived in Mississippi, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Louisiana, and traveled in many other states. I currently reside in west Texas. Genealogy research should be shared. Anyone who wants my pictures or information is welcome to it. I am grateful to those who unselfishly post their findings and pictures and share with others. My work is motivated by a desire to help others. |
I also appreciate the team efforts of findagrave members-those who contribute pictures, obituaries, and family links. I don't mind death certificates on my postings. Not only is this site used to perpetuate the memory of loved ones, but it is also used to help others track their ancestors.
Also, the new Edit system is great, but members, please check the requests before you blindly hit Accept. I've caught many errors in these edit requests.

Thanks for considering my edit request. I sent it because the stone says Blackmon, not Blackman and I thought guidelines say to post what is on the stone. Just wanted to let you know why I sent it.
Kathy please transfer these two relatives to me 104538052 and 104538072. I am Milton Jenkins 46627696. I have made this request several times requesting the transfer and have not heard from you. I hope you are there and are well and able to get this email. There is a rule by find a grave that requires us to make transfers of relatives. I have sent a message to find a grave informing them that I am unable to get in contact with you and requested they make the transfer.

I'm not related and I really don't care. Maybe just leave the name as is and add a note so someone else doesn't point it out later on. These old families were always modifying their last name. Or maybe they couldn't write and didn't know the difference. Take Rifenberg for instance. It can be spelled about 20 different ways.
The only thing I'm sure of is that he was probably married to Susan or Susanna. The stones were next to each other.

Mintie is a second wife for John and she was his first wife. She died in 1908 and he remarried. Sorry it was confusing. Thanks for clarifying.

I have just completed my third trip to St Thomas. It is a large job, but I hope to entirely walk the cemetery this fall. I will be asking for many corrections and thank you in advance for your assistance.
The biggest problem is that there are so many illegible and fallen stones. I have finished adding the names from an old cemetery list and it is a huge help in identifying the graves.
