RE: Buri Family
Judy, I wonder that Frogtown got its name from the spring peepers down in that creek down in that hollow. Can just imagine that sound soon when spring gets here. I do wonder of the possible Buri to Buery connection, always have to leave an open door. Here is a question concerning Otillie Buri Walter's daughter also named Tillie, she 1st married William Rhubright, divorced then remarried to Raymond Kessler of Shamokin. Her death certificate June 2, 1930 states she was buried in Fountain Springs Cemetery (Christ Church Cem) outside Ashland. I looked through Sch Vital Records 1 and no listing for her under either name. Have you dealt with the cemetery personnel there? are they helpful etc. to go through burial records ? Carrie C.

Buri Family
Judy, Thanks for the transfer of Otillia Buri Walter. I thought that the Buri family was also aligned with the other Beury Families in Schuylkill but now I know they are not. Otillia's two brothers Theodore and Henry Buri came to Tamaqua, from Germany then by 1889-1895 or so both pulled up roots again and went to Philadelphia, with all the children, then Henry moved to New Jersey. Otillia's three sisters all married, but stayed in Tamaqua. All the men in the family kept the spelling of Buri as such till some of the deaths I have seen in the 1960's. The German birth & Bap records I have found are all spelled Buri. Its always possible another Buri sibling slipped in to Tamaqua Sch Co and the spelling changed. But from what I have seen in records one or other of the Buri siblings were standing in as sponsors in Baptismal records and who gave info on Death Certificates. Their nephew Phillip Otto Buri did come over and married a Tamaqua girl but by the 1910 census he left for Wayne Co., Michigan where he died.. Speaking of Rocktown for Lavelle, where was Frogtown ? also part of Lavelle? Carrie C.

RE: Thomas Troyan
Just to let you know, I photographed all 11 cemeteries around Mount Carmel including all 5 on top of the Merriam. I've taken over 25,000 pictures so far and still doing some follow up walk thru. If you're ever in the mood, there still are a lot of people buried in the last two years that need to be taken pictures of. Except for the Mount Carmel Cemetery, just walk thru any of the other 10 cemeteries and look for people buried in 2013 & 2014 & 2015 and take a picture of their headstones, chances are that they are needed. You're welcome for the compliments. Sincerely, Robert Miller

Thomas Troyan
I'm sorry Judy but I know very little about the people I've made memorials for, Thomas included. I now leave a note & token that states that fact. "Because I Never Knew Knew You And Since We're Not Related" it starts. People like yourself, sadly make the mistake, thinking I know all the deceased in my memorials. This is simply one massive project I started 15 years ago and still trying to finish. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. Sincerely, Robert Miller
