Bio Photo I am not sure what to think of the new Transcribe feature. Sure it helps get names into the system, but I feel that it promotes lazy documentation.

I tried using Billion Graves (mobile based grave logging system). I got really annoyed with the horrible quality of peoples pictures for markers and the lack of any desire to transcribe markers.

Since I found FindAGrave, I have always thought of it as the quality information/documentation source vs others.

===============================================
My biggest pet peeve is improperly collected or cataloged data. That is why I love this project so much. It is neat to bust out the Ancestry.com account and do some sleuthing on a family to complete a memorial but I really just like the peace of going to a cemetery, taking a ton of photos, and coming home and uploading/transcribing them.

I try to fulfill requests from time to time but I mainly pick a cemetery and start methodically logging the entire thing. This way, I have photos and GPS coordinates of all graves.

If anyone can assist with stones that need translation, it would be very helpful. I have created a virtual cemetery of stones that I cannot translate. I haven't bothered with Spanish stones because Google Translate works like a champ with it. The tough ones are the Middle East and Asian ones because I cannot identify their character sets to even attempt a translation.

##Please do not take offense to me sending you the GPS location of a grave. This is public information, I just happened to go to the site and collect it. It is very annoying going to a large cemetery and not being able to find a marker. The GPS gives you about a 40 foot circle of where to look. It ultimately aides your family, current generation, and future generations (who will most likely be plugged in and not know what a paper map is).##

RE: Marion Majors and Thomas Majors
Hi Mr. Badger,
Yes, 7th cousin once removed. Marion, that is.
Thanks for creating her memorial. Trying to find her dad Marion Ray Francis Bryant, as well.
Thanks, Jeff

Hi Chuck, You have done a great job with adding the "lost" graves in Mt. Kelly. The information on the church website has quite a few errors, mainly in spelling of names. In the case of Walteria I've posted her death certificate on the memorial you created which is different from the church information. Pat

Find A Grave Memorial# 104365688
Hello Chuck,

I guess that Virgil Frazier isn't a relation of yours? If so, I'm interested in him as a Great Aunt of mine left New Zealand during the 2nd World War and married a man of that name. She was Grace Ellen Allen and they had a son Bruce Lee. I see there is another lady's name on the plaque which wouldn't surprise me as Grace passed away in 1954.

Regards,

Thank you for your attempt to photo the marker for Ed Kippert. I discovered he is buried in the Trinity Cemetery (Not Evergreen), in an unmarked grave. Again thank you

Thanks
Thank you for trying to locate my relatives grave sites at Evergreen Cemetery. I got the address from the obituary, I will try to do more research and try to find out exactly where they are. It is still good to know you could not find them there, now I need to see if I can figure out where they are.

Thanks much!

Grave Head Stone Request
Hi Chuck

I want to thank you for looking for my Uncle Robert W. Grier, in the Evergreen Cemetery, and because he had Parents from Scotchland, that he should of been in this Cemetery. With you help I went over to the other Evergreen Cemetery on Woodward Ave. in Detroit, and I had found a listing for my Uncle, but I have not found a Grave Head Stone yet. His location is Ferndale Section, Range #6, Grave 73. When I receive the paper work for Evergreen Cemetery I will be looking for the Head Stone.

Thank You for all your Help
Bob

Plots for the Winns
Hi, Chuck. Thanks so much for doing the legwork and searching the Evergreen Cemetery for my Winn relatives. They weren't found, but I don't think they would be in the larger cemetery in Detroit either (they died before it opened for business). As I got this location info from someone else, I'd better now do my best to verify those details. I have another mystery on my hands!

The information you provided was invaluable -- thanks so much again for all your work. I really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Colyn in Portland
