Wilberforce Auld
Good Afternoon. I am descended from Wilberforce's sister, Margaret born c1795. I have done a fair bit of research but know little about William Auld's children. I do know that the 1851 and the 1861 census (Scotland) show that Margaret was born in North America. It can only be supposed that she came back to Scotland in 1814 with her father. Margaret was living at 3 Jamaica Street, Leith at the time of her marriage 30 August 1825 to Robert Schaw. I believe that William and Wilberforce Auld also came back to Scotland (I can find no record of them in the UK)but I believe his Native Canadian wife was left behind so Wilberforce born in Canada.

William's occupation is shown on Margaret's marriage certificate as Merchant and at the time he was living in Leith, Edinburgh.

Thomas E Gravatt
Hey, thanks for the article about Thomas. I am a distant cousin of his (2nd, 5x removed). Reading about him dying of lockjaw reminds me of how lucky I am to live in a time with tetanus shots!

LOCUST HILL CEMETERY
Hello
I noticed that you have been posting memorials for Locust Hill. Will you still be doing so ?
I don't want to go back there, if you still will be continuing with Locust Hill.
Hope to hear from you.
Thanks
Ken

Thank you for posting his cemetery listing and headstone. I have very little information on this man, my husbands great grandfather. Now I have his date of birth and his burial site.

RE: Rose Hill
The Schanks (and Lawrences and Hughes, etc.) are not direct ancestors; they are second and third cousins. No need to transfer.
I asked about the other names because they are supposedly buried in the same area as the Schanks.
Sorry about the poison ivy; hopefully you can get back to Rose Hill again soon.

Schancks in Rose Hill Cemetery
Thank you for the photos of John and Adelaide Schanck. (And thanks for setting up the other Schanck memorials. I have sent edit suggestions to link children to their parents.) There is also a photo request for William Hughes (1859-1891) that you can fulfill with the photo for Charles W. Schanck (1866-1868).

Were there no Lawrence, Holbrook, Hughes or McAlpin gravestones in that area? Let me know and I will remove those photo requests.

Isabella Fountain at Rose Hill
Thank you for the photo of the Fountain family gravestone. I have several other requests in the Sunnyside section, if you happen to get back to Rose Hill Cemetery.

James Henry Riley
Thank you for the additional information about James Riley. His date of death on his stone is May 11 and in the newspaper May 4. I will stick with what is "written in stone." Wish I could read the number of months on the stone so I could add his birth date. Maureen
