I'm working on my family trees. Something I started years ago, but kept getting put on the back burner.|
I enjoy finding long lost relatives and putting all their information together so they are not forgotten.
In my spare time I enjoy adding photos of tombstones and adding the obits to the memorials. Maybe I can help someone find a relative with some information in the obit., or at least tell something about the person.
If I have placed a flower, I either knew that person or they are somewhere in my family tree.

|Grandma Jin||RE: Wm ScottLAND Bounds|
Thank you for questioning an edit. Most of my data has been verified some way - I've found most Bounds researchers reliable; and I do usually follow up on leads. In this case (32031283) I found this as a resource. https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3A"WILLIAM SCOTLAND"~%2Bsurname%3ABOUNDS~%2Bbirth_place%3AOHIO~ %2Bbirth_year%3A1850-1850.
Without actual birth certificate in hand, and because the county in question was Scotland, I feel fairly certain that his middles name IS indeed, Scotland.
After the publication of the follow-up book the "Boundless Bounds Family" by Ruth Dryden, my cousins and I did our best to prove the edits. As you know, sometimes family members know things we don't! In 2001, we published a 'supplement' of additions and corrections for the Bounds book, and I've been keeping a database ever since. Regards, Jinny Myler Collins-Cooper

Martha Ann Ball Martin
Andrew J. Martin in Sand Cemetery memorial #155807487.
Yes, I know Peggy, we help each other on memorials, we have never met, but worked together for several years. I lived in Southern MO for several years and returned to Clark Co., 3 years ago.
I also have a book Marriage Records of Clark Co., MO in Volume 3 I found A.J. Martin that married Martha Ann Ball on June 7, 1897. (The day may vary as that may be the day they got the license).
Was Martha with him in Texas?
Martha was not with him in Texas, that we know of.
I looked up the Andrew Martin in Sand Cemetery, he was too young.

Thanks so much for your reply.
I am working with a Scotland CO resident who is part of my extended family. I just found the memorial for Martha Ann Martin the other day. We thought that there was just the one for her daughter.
Andrew Jackson Martin died, we think, in 1910 or later. He was with one of his sons in 1910 in Texas and cannot find him after that. I would be very interested in the A. J. Martin that you mention. That could be our man.
I don't know how common that the name Andrew Jackson was at the 1900 time frame, but I have found 3 marriage certificates for an Andrew Jackson Martin (besides Martha there is one in Adair CO, and one in Scotland CO).
Dave Martin searching from Arizona.
PS I was there last summer with my cousin Peggy Dochterman who you may know.

I just found your picture of this person. The picture is so clear. The memorial looks almost new. Would you know the date of memorial? She died in 1928.
There is a daughter of Martha. She died not quite a year old, Mabel Beatric Ball. We were thinking that Martha did not have a memorial and was buried next to her little girl.
I am working with another person who lives in Etna. We are working on the husband of Martha, Andrew Jackson Martin. I have been working on the Martin family for a long time, and he is the last one to get information. AJ Martin was a cousin of my G grandfather, Samuel Granville Martin of Knox CO.
Dave Martin in Arizona.

OK I will change it to 'six children' instead of 'five children' if you are sure. Information was from the obituary if memory serves. But perhaps you knew the family.
I do not put names of living children or recently deceased children in obits though, and I think that is alignment with the site rules for privacy and against potential identity theft etc.
Thanks for the suggestion.
