My name is Spirit Baker,
My maternal family is from England surname's Hall (Hull) and Doane (Doan)(Dunn) with Armstrong from Scotland and then North Ireland. My paternal family is Eli Baker from NY and moved to CT in late 1800's and then my Grandpa, Norman Baker, moved to MA.
I gather a bit of info from FamilySearch and add it to the bios. If you see an error please let me know and I will promptly update.
You may use my photos as you wish except to sell.
Thank you and good luck with your searches.

Hi Spirit; I made the additions you suggested to this memorial, thanks. Any idea who his parents are so that I might link him to them?
|Mary Lichtenwald||RE: John Richmond Duplicate|
I first noticed the Global Find A Grave a few months back. It is used for those lost at sea, etc. where there are no burial sites.
I am not sure hers is Global, but it is for burial site unknown. If you read it, you will see there is nowhere near the information you have in yours. Sometimes I wonder how much research goes into the ones with unknown information.

Thanks for letting me know about the proper location of John Richmond's final resting place. I have corrected that aspect of my memorial. If you'd like to add the wonderful photo you took, that would be very nice. This lineage is a direct line for me, and I am grateful for any corrections. Another possibility you could explore if you like is to contact findagrave and let that know of the duplicates for John Richmond and ask them to merge them. Thanks so much.

Hi Spirit..I think most of us have a mystery relative or two; it makes researching our history interesting. I found my father's grandfather by nosing around Rootsweb; got connected to a woman named Loretta in AZ who turned out to be one of his gr-grandchildren like me. She thought he only had 3 marriages; but I was a descendent of a son by his first marriage which no one in their family ever knew about. She also told me that every time he married his age changed. We decided even he didn't know how old he was. The family stories give our ancestry character, even if they don't give us answers to all the secrets.
Thanks for working with me on these Stetson lines. The Stetsons and Halls were both well-known shipbuilders and you can find that a lot of them intermarried. Best, Cuzzin Linda

|Linda Hiross||Florence T. Garde Wilbur|
Hi Spirit: Don't know what gives at this cemetery; families seem to be doubling up on Gravestones who don't seem to be related. I have seen this in other cemeteries, but it doesn't happen that often. Maybe the plots are so close together either the families can't afford separate stones or it is cemetery policy? Or maybe Florence had a sister who marr. Garde? (Haven't checked on that) Interesting (weird) if it wasn't so misleading. Florence was not listed in the Census records with Edward Garde, so I did some more searching and found her death record in VT, which gave me a hook on her maiden name and parents. Thanks for all the updating....Linda
Yup, we are probably distant cousins as my lines include the New England Shurtleffs, Stetsons, Fuller, etc. I live in VA, but my parents were from Boston and Marshfield, MA..I sorta got displaced but am not missing the snow shoveling.
Thanks for working with me on upgrading these memorials. They are all Stetson lines, so maybe even related to you! Best, Linda
