Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love to do genealogy on my own family and helping other's with theirs. I have several hobbies and never enough time - 1 hobby being Geocaching which has led me to many cemeteries so I am lucky to be able to combine the 2 - although my wife doesn't always feel the same :o)
I find great joy in helping other's by getting photo's for find a grave and giving them that Ah Ha moment!

I am researching the following surnames: Carmichael, Chastek (Chvastek), St. Germaine & Taylor families of New York - any info is appreciated :o)

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

RE: Cicero, Zanghi gs photos
Thank you so much Mickey. You can send your full name and mailing info to cindyahistorian(at)yahoo(dot)com

We would like to use the group shot of the four Cicero family stones and the close up showing Michiele Cicero's photo.

Thank you so much! I live in Perry myself but considering all the snow we have there is no way I could dig around them and make them look as nice as yours.

Cicero, Zanghi gs photos
Hi,
Our office, the Wyoming County Historian, publishes a quarterly entitled Historical Wyoming and we are publishing a story that includes the Cicero's. Would you give us permission to use photos from the St. Joseph's cemetery in Perry? They are of the ones for Michiele & Ida Cicero and their daughter, Leonora Zanghi. Obviously we will give you credit.
We would be happy to send you a copy of the issue if you provide us with a name & address.
Sincerely,
Cindy

E J Alverson
Regarding grave stone pic of 'E J Alverson' in Prospect Hill Cem in Perry Center NY. I'm trying to determine identity of this person. It appears the name at the top of the stone is 'Emma'. Is that correct and is there a reference to her relationship to 'E.J.', or anything else on the stone that might help ID him. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. John at jmtbuckeye@charter.net,
