Bio and Links
Bio Photo My focus is primarily on Catholic families from Allegany County, Maryland and Mineral County, West Virginia. I am always happy when I can share local knowledge to help people find their ancestral roots. When I am not doing genealogy, I love ballroom dancing, tennis and yoga and Zumba.

If I have posted a memorial for one of your ancestors, I will be happy to transfer it to you.

A friend and I are currently working on uploading burials from St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Cumberland, Maryland. So far, burials from 1853-1939 have been added.

Please let me know if you see any errors in my posts; I will be happy to fix them. And I am happy to transfer memorials of your family to you.

St. Patrick's Cemetery Question
Hi Shawn,
You uploaded an obituary to John W. Starner who died Aug 7, 1900 and is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Cumberland, MD. He is my 2nd great grandfather. The picture on his memorial cuts off the obituary. Do you still have the original? I'm very interested to read it.

Hi Shawn, do you know if St. Michaels has a book on burials? I am looking for Patrick McCaffrey whom I believe is related to Michael McCaffrey, d. 1867, which you have. His wife Catherine McCaffrey should be buried there too. Do you know where I can bet obits on Patrick/Catherine? Thanks.

Hugh is buried there as well as Hugh W.
However, no marker is visible in the 2
times I checked. Not to say he doesn't
have one; it's hard to say.
If you want an 'area' photo just request
a photo and I'll add it

RE: Connolly's in County Galway Ireland
My e-mail is
I imagine with both our Connolly's being from Galway we are distantly related somehow. Wondering have you ever done one of the DNA tests. It's an autosomal tests that somehow gets both male and female sides. If you have I will have to check and see if you match with mine.
