I manage~~not own~~the memorials I place on FindaGrave. Please use the SAC (edit feature) when asking for changes. This prevents mistakes because the edit feature connects me to the right memorial. Please read this ★ ☆ ★ FAQs ★ ☆ ★ before you intentionally make a duplicate of a memorial (which is a no no): I do transfer out of guidelines a lot if I feel you will maintain the memorial you request better than I can ~ which means a beloved aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. (Just don't ask for a whole cemetery or a whole list of the same name especially if you happened to find this site and have been a member for a few days). Stick around for awhile - contribute. Although a great place for genealogy this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE!

Permission has been given to GenealogyTrails.com to use my photos for their excellent site.
YES - you have permission to use the photos I took for your personal family files. I would appreciate it if you cited where you found the photo and if possible link back to FindAGrave.com.
However unless you are a nonprofit organization, this is not to be copied & pasted on a commercial site or used for commercial publication without permission.

I love to have additional information to add to the memorials. In winter I go through what I have put up and link families, find additional dates, etc. Although it looks like I have more than I can handle, I have had no problem adding suggested information. I have 35 years of experience in family history research and will be happy to add links or more biographical information on your family.

If you are requesting a photo - all information is helpful. Many people only have flat to the ground memorials, and they are difficult to find. If you know of other family names that might be close by, that is very helpful in large cemeteries. Also if your memorial served in the military, that is very helpful as most cemeteries commemorate with a flag.

I love the challenge of photographing really old stones. I also love the zincs - which were an inexpensive product for the time but have outlasted some of the more expensive marbles and granites. The zincs were very popular during the Prohibition Era because the insides were hollow and easily accessible.

The people we ~meet~ in these resting places are integral in putting together family history. The memorial may be all that is left.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have added photos to my memorials, taken the time to send me information, added their own memorials, found a dupe or two, and have been kind and respectful.

It is so important that if you have an old cemetery near you, to get these stones recorded before weather and/or vandals get to them.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★★ ☆
I do try to wipe off debris and pull some overgrown grass out of the way, but I will not harm the stone in any way. Plus I do not pull up flowers, even if they are wilted.
It's a bit of work to take the photos, re size and sometimes enhance the lettering to be made readable, enter names and upload the photos. I do this lovingly. Please respect that.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
I have a camera that takes good photos, however the condition of the stone may make it unreadable or the stone is so damaged that there is no information. Bright sunny days might be good for walks but can wash out headstone inscriptions. I do retakes a lot.

Thanks so much for accepting the edit to the above memorial so quickly. My wife's grandmother (and grandfather). She discovered your memorial accidently and was thrilled someone took the time to document it. I also was happy to be able to link their daughters (My wife's mother and aunt) to it as well. Thanks again and happy hunting!

Ellen Cafferty Welles
Hello,
You have provided me with information in the past, but I am still researching my Cafferty and Welles connections. By any chance, are you able to locate a wedding announcement for Ellen Cafferty and Ralph Edgar Welles who were married on 17 Feb 1891 in Springfield. However, both lived in Hartford at the time and I am unable to locate any details. Any articles or announcements would be most appreciated.

Capt John Stanton
Thank you so much for the addition of your photo of the obviously new stone for Capt. John Stanton. I would love to know who erected the new stone. Any ideas? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=39668501&PIpi=106048524

Find A Grave Memorial# 61278879 Nabbe Baldwin
Mr. Greer:

Find A Grave Memorial# 61278879 Nabbe Baldwin, wife of Rev James Baldwin, is the same person as my 5th Great-grand-Aunt Abigail Dickinson, born 26 Jul 1767 at Litchfield (Litchfield Vital Recotds), married Rev James Baldwin, 16 Aug 1785 at Litchfied. She is the daughter of Michael Dickinson and Abigail Catlin.

Could you please add her maiden name and birth information to your Find-a-Grave entry?

If you so desire, I would consider it an honor to manage her and her family's Find-a-Grave Memorials...

Sincerely

Lynn Jeffrey Bernhard

Nathan Lewis, Quinnipiac Cemetery
With regard to your wonderful pic of the Nathan Lewis, d. 09/07/1799, gravestone, thank you. Nathan is my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather. Is there a way to obtain an original pic? I am happy to compensate. I want to upload it to Ancestry.com and would also be happy to make the appropriate attributions.

In any case, many thanks.

East Cemetery in Litchfield, CT
The Hale Collection has:
Mabel McNeil
Edwin McNeil
Emily Dotterer McNeil, wife of Edwin
Elmore B. McNeil
Edwin McNeil
and George Scranton Mcneil
listed as being buried in the East Cemetery.
Can you verify that they are buried there?
I don't see them listed in Find-A-Grave and I will create the memorials if they don't exist

Adeline A Talmadge: Can A be an H?
I am searching for a 4th great grandmother and this marker is the closest I have come. My dilemma is the woman I am hunting for fits these dates but the middle initial I need is H and not A. Is your original photograph any clearer and could that middle initial be an H?

I greatly appreciate the work you and others do. I have added only a few names, mostly family but love wandering the old cemeteries.

If you can help, please reply.

L Fabian FindAGrave contributor newby.

Hope that makes sense.
