Keith, the Champions are confusing! I find an Ada Champion who has a Susan Champion as her sister, with parents Edward and Mary. I can find a Worthy Champion born 1859, with wife, Emma (1866-1921), in "Duck River Cemetery" in the Hale Collection, and verify him and his wife on Ancestry. Worthy lists his marriage to Emma as his second in the 1920 Census. This explains why we don't see his gravestone in the Point O' Woods Cemetery, just his name on Ada's.

Ada Champion
Age in 1870: 4
Birth Year: abt 1866
Birthplace: Connecticut
Home in 1870: Old Lyme, New London, Connecticut
Race: White
Gender: Female
Post Office: Lyme
Value of real estate: View image
Household Members:
Name Age
Edward Champion 48
Mary M Champion 44
Susan M Champion 24
Fannie Champion 21
Jennie Champion 18
John H Champion 13
Jupline Champion 11
Gilbert Champion 6
Ada Champion 4
Mercy Champion 1

RE: Susan Miller Champion
Yes, there are many more stones than the 49 listed so far. Maybe 70-75 is closer to the total than 49. That was my impression, as I was taking photos of the 40-50 I had originally shot.

I'd like to think I can get back down there before the snow falls, if that would help, Keith!

RE: Point of Woods Cemetery
Keith, I didn't take photos of either of those people's gravestones, so please feel free to transfer those names!

I'm busy deleting my duplicates and putting photos on records that currently do not have photos. If you see a mistake that I make, just let me know!

RE: Point of Woods Cemetery
Keith, if you want to go ahead and add the note about the cemetery name, that would be fine with me! I'll work on adding grave records and also deleting any that I've added that are duplicates.

I'm glad that "Point O' Woods Cemetery" is the name we'll be using, since I've called it that since early childhood!

Thanks so much for doing the research, Keith!

All the best,

RE: Point of Woods Cemetery
Keith, yikes! Yes, someone should decide what name this cemetery will go by on Find A Grave and then we can remove whatever records are duplicates, or migrate the ones still needed. Please let me know. I feel no particular ownership over the records I put up. I just want our beloved Point 'O Woods cemetery to be up here.

Thank you so much for letting me know that we have this duplication. I'll hold off going back for more photos until I hear from you. No hurry. and thanks again!

Very best,

Richard L Ames
I have been trying for several years to uncover information about Richard L Ames' grandparents. His brother, Ebenezer Ames was on great great grandfather. Richard and Ebenezer's father, Benjamin G. Ames was my great great great grandfather, but I've been unable to uncover information prior to Benjamin. Although there are many Ameses listed in the Waterford, CT area, I have no info that shows who Benjamin's parents were. Can anybody help?

I have just added three pictures to his memorial in Evergreen Cemetery. If you click on the first picture you will be able to read the inscription.

I am attempting to add all of the burials at the Knight Hospital Memorial.

Thanks so much for taking the photo of Pearl Kienholz's gravestone.

Thank you so much for taking the photo of Aaron Kienholz's gravestone. I also had a request out there for his wife, Pearl in the same cemetery. Did you take hers as well?
