Please feel comfortable about contacting me if you have corrections or additional information you would like me to add. Be sure to add "findagrave" on the subject line. Photos are for your personal use only.|
Please do not ask me to copy obituary notice to the record unless you are the author, since this would be in violation of one of the FAG policies. You may, however, provide the newspaper name, publication location, date of publication and page #. If the obit provides information such as the parents' names, I will add.

Thanks for doing it so quickly!

Thanks for the note. Most of the gravestone photos your memorial for Gershom Bulkeley are more or less duplicated by Steve Goodrich on his duplicate memorial. And, I just saved the four gravestone photos on your memorial should they be of value later. Steve is now the editor-writer of the Goodrich Family Association's monthly newsletter.

I made those additions to her memorial. Let me know if you have other changes or additions to this or other memorials. Thanks!

|Don Blauvelt||Rev. Gershom Bulkeley|
Hope all is well. I'm going to transfer back to you memorial 20337956 and ask that you delete it. Will explain via a suggest a correction.

You're wonderful! I'm sure Earl will appreciate having more Jorgensens. They must connect somehow!
Those are all the Jorgensen cards Mike could find, but his filing cabinet was a disaster, with people filed by last name, first name or whatever. He looked through about all of the J's though.

I think you misunderstood my message. Yes, he is male, but when I went to bring in the Find A Grave link, it showed him as female. So the source of the error is his Find A Grave record.
|Ben Zuber Swanson, Jr., DDS, MPhil||RE: Dr George Wesley Spencer|
How wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for all your work on Find A Grave.
This is the first time that I have run across a re-interment that was done so long after the death.
I want you to read the PA write-up as it currently stands (memorial 91080733). There are still so many mysteries of his life. -- Where did he get his training? I suspect that that he did a preseptorship under an M.D. and then enlisted in the Civil War. The type of thing he was offering to do for patients (replace noses) most likely was learned on the battlefield. I have found one G.W. Spencer listed as a surgeon, but he served the Confederacy (still it could be him).
On his business shell card made to resemble a $20 gold piece he promotes himself as an Artistic Surgeon & Dentist. I had never before run across the title "Artistic Surgeon," but a quick search of the internet finds that many plastic surgeons are now using it.
I would be delighted to take on the family which would mean I would have 2 Dr. Spencer memorials. I would have some duplication but would try to concentrate the PA one as primarily his professional career and the NY one more about family matters and his actual genealogy (I have his family tree back to 1699).
Again I want to thank you for all the memorials you have created and the work of linking families. If what we create makes just a few families happy to find their ancestors properly documented, it will all be worth it. And it is fun.

You're wonderful, Marie! Hopefully he'll know how Christine connects to his Jorgensens as I haven't figured that one out yet. I was hoping to photograph his direct ancestors, Hans & Karen Jorgensen, in that cemetery. The expert in locating graves, "Mike," was a fantastic help and located their unmarked grave for me and let me photograph all the Jorgensen interment cards! He refused a tip but finally agreed to a package of double chocolate Tastykake cupcakes. Great guy!!
