Bio Photo "The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost." ~Arthur Schopenhauer

If I have added a grave that needs corrections or additions please let me know. Transfers for families are always considered!

I was born in Elgin, Illinois. I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I have always had a fascination with cemeteries and now that I am working on my genealogy I have an excuse to take photo's of gravestones.

Family names I am researching are: Harris,Hausburg, Huber,Opitz. Goodman,Vandermaar, Kuizenga, Hansen, Aurand, Markham,Samuelson, Sund, Eberle, Siebenthal, Sinn, Merz, Beschorner, Benz, Boncosky, Nesler, Traub, Ballew, Carter, English, Sims, Schmidt,

"Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead, and I will measure with mathematical exactness, the tender mercies of its people, their loyalty to high ideals, and their regard for the laws of the land."

- Eighteenth-century British statesman William Gladstone

Dear Duane, I have spent the last 13 years restoring Shabbona Grove Cemetery outside of Shabbona IL. and I'm happy to report it's 99% complete. Now that I'm retired and past the age where I should be wrasseling gravestones I have started putting photos of all of them on Find A Grave. My problem is as I go thru the find a grave entries I have found others have " added " people to the cemetery that aren't buried there ! Nice photos of gravestones only I know those folks are not in the cemetery I was involved in restoring ! So now I have to find out where those folks belong ! One couple that has shown up is Ernest and Florence Beschorner. I used ancestry.com to locate people with an interest in them and your name and e mail popped up.

Do you know for a certainty where they are buried ? If you do could you be so kind as to help me out ? Thanks so much . Jim Stewart Shabbona IL.

RE: Traub
No, no relation ... I just live close to Bluff City Cemetery and Lakewood Memorial in Elgin and enjoy taking pictures of the headstones. If I had an unlimited data plan I'd be able to look them up while I was walking around the cemetery to see if they were already in Find A Grave ... lol ... would save me a lot of time, I suppose! My parents and daughter are buried at Lakewood but I find the headstones at Bluff City much easier to photograph (since they usually aren't half buried under the grass!) I spent over 30 minutes the other day "uncovering" 2 grave sites that had photo requests so I could take the pictures. I was amazed I was even able to locate them.
