Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Memphis, TN, raised in Jackson, MS, and moved to Dallas in 1967.

My father was Jesse Thomas White.

My mother was Clara Vanderberg White .

You are invited to visit their memorials to see their ancestors.

I am addicted to FindaGrave and genealogy research in general. I have had the good fortune to connect with a number of cousins through this website.

Most of my research is tracing family members in Mississippi.... Panola, Quitman, Calhoun, Yalobusha and Hinds Counties.

My Family Names: White, Vanderberg, Vanderburg, Potts, Jenkins and Hupperich.

My wife's family: Pitt, Sapp, and Newcomer's, mostly from Oklahoma, and Baldridge from Tennessee.

"I have never met a cemetery I did not like", and
"I can not go to a cemetery and take just one picture".

I am also a volunteer photo taker at Grove Hill and Oakland Cemeteries in Dallas.

If I have added one of your family members or family friends, let me know and I will transfer them to you.

A number of the pictures added and memorials created in the Memphis and North Mississippi area have been contributed by my cousin, Becky Vanderburg Abbott.

Any photograph I have added to any memorial may be used by the general public, without credit to me.

Re: Mary Kaherine Curtis
Tom, thank you so much for the transfer. I have searched for Kathy's obituary for the past few years. We were close friends in jr. high and spent quite a lot of time at each other's homes. After getting married, having children and working we lost touch with each other. In 1967 I was a cashier at a grocery store and saw her with her family while they were shopping there. I was on break, so we had a few minutes to catch up on news and have some laughs about earlier times. We swapped phone numbers and called each other occasionally, but not regularly.

One day I was reading the newspaper. There was an article about a lady who was my age, 32. The newspaper article said the lady's daughter found her mother dead. The little girl was 11. I guess because we were the same age and both had young daughters, the story stayed with me over the years. The next time I called Kathy's number it had been disconnected and I never heard from her again. I did not know that lady was Kathy who was found by her daughter. Heck, I never knew her name was Mary Katherine. I always knew her as Kathy. A few years later I saw a man we went to school with. He brought up Kathy's name and asked if I knew anything about her death. He had only heard rumors. I was shocked. When he mentioned her young daughter finding her I immediately thought of the story I read a couple of years earlier and realized it was Kathy.

She was divorced and it wasn't a pleasant one, so I didn't try to contact her former husband about where she was buried. I always wondered. After I started working with Find A Grave I searched for her on The Register of Deeds site with no luck. I couldn't remember the exact year she died because when I read about her death I did not realize it was about her. Friday, I went back to the register of Deeds and did a search again, using only her last name. I was going to search through 10 year spans at a time so the list wouldn't be so long. When I saw a name with the age of 32 and her middle name was Katherine I knew that had to be her.

I went to the library yesterday and found her obituary. It says she was found by her brother, nit her daughter. I don't know who found her, but I'm so glad I found her. Thank you again for the transfer.

Have a blessed day.

Don Ray Archer bio
Thank you for uploading the info i sent you so promptly! :) Btw...Archer also said in a circa 1980s documentary that Oswald's transfer was originally planned by Chief Curry for the nighttime (unannounced) "...but outside political factors coming from as far as Washington that insisted that Oswald be shown."

RE: Guss and Janie Farmer
His name was Glenn Joyner, Family Service Counselor. He was very very apologetic in his email to me about someone not providing service in the first place. He did indicate that the only way they would not take the time to look up a plot location would be if they were in the process of meeting with a family. Good luck.

I contacted the Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. They told me they never refuse to look up plot information and did not understand how your experience happened. They apologized for the misconception of their customer service. They did send me photo's of the tombstones. Just wanted to let you know that they will look up plot information should you ever get a request for this park in the future. Thanks. Karen
