Hi ! I love walking thru old cemeteries, finding interesting stone markers, and researching some of the people.

I have been adding several burial records in my area, and I am sure this project will take a very long time, because I have hundreds of people to add.

**OAK HILL CEMETERY IN KIRKLIN is a special project of mine, and I will be happy to add any additional information for you, but I would rather not transfer any of these memorials at this time, but you can still add pictures if you want, and I will be happy to "link" anyone with their families. Thanks for understanding.**

The majority of the memorial records that I have added for GREENLAWN CEMETERY, Frankfort, Indiana and SPENCER CEMETERY, Sheridan, Indiana, are courtesy of MARY ELLEN MATTINGLY in Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana. Thank You Mary Ellen for your extremely hard work on gathering all of these precious records.

Most of the memorial records that I have added for BUNNELL CEMETERY, Frankfort, Indiana are from Bunnell Cemetery records.

Special Thanks to The Frankfort Community Public Library for their great Genealogy Department. Without them, I would never be able to locate so many obits from Microfilm, birth records, death records and marriage records.

Dinora Ladora Shaffer Ticen
I did find one clue to the mystery of Josephus Shaffer, and his half sister Dinora. In the 1870 Indiana census...Dinora was 4; her father was Enoch W Shaffer, mother was Mary E. Shaffer. She had an older sister (which I wonder if that was Josephus Shaffer's sister, her name was Madeline Milnora Shaffer 12 yrs) and younger brother William 2yrs in 1870. The oldest could not be Mary's daughter (I don't think)..because Mary was only twenty five in either Enoch came with a child into their union...or like others, they took her in from another family situation.
Josephus was born in 1860, and Dinora in 1865...and I do not know if Barbara Shaffer Witt, had him that early; she and Enoch Witt had him when he was nine-nineteen...but again no names. Thanks so much again, for all you do.

Albert James Pearcy
Hi, Judy, I have noticed that I made a mistake when linking Albert Pearcy's kids to Edith Pearcy. Their mother was Sarah Jane (Pettit) Pearcy, Albert's first wife, who died in 1937. Edith is his second wife and as far as I know, they had no children of their own. Once I find a burial disposition for Sarah, I will link her to her and Albert's five children. In the meantime, please unlink Edith from Albert's kids; Betty, Barbara, Jack and James. Please and thank you.

RE: Denora ladora Shaffer Ticen
Your information on Enoch and Barbara (Shaffer) Witt, helped give me a direction that I did not have before. It is interesting in Josephus "Oliver" Shaffers obituary; it mentions half sister Dora (Denora), and foster brother James Witt. So my search is going in circles, but I will find the answer....I wonder if Josephus was a child from one of Barbara's siblings...the mystery is fun to unravel (most times). Thanks for everything!

This is Peggy Failla, and I received two images today...from a Judy...but it would not let me open; was that from you. It said the address was not correct; so just curious if you had emailed me. Thanks again...I am going to read and look up the info you sent on Denora Ladora Shaffer Ticen..I am curious about the connection to my grandmother. Thanks again

Thanks so much, I will look into it Oliver J. Shaffer's obituary it listed a half sister Denora Ladora Shaffer.....and I did not know he went by Oliver, because my mother and pictures have him as Josephus...but the obituary did list aunt Mae and Alpha correctly. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall, so that I could match the person to the name. Thanks so much.

Denora ladora Shaffer Ticen
This may seem like an impossible question...but Denora (Dora) L. Shaffer Ticen was my grandmothers aunt...but a half sister to her father. Is there a way to find the names of her parents, so that I can trace his family. In his obituary it only says half sister Dora Ticen and foster brother James Witt...I have hit a wall. He is suppose to be in the Ball Hill Cemetery..and she is in the Gettingsville Cemetery, but no family names are listed. Thanks

I wondered if you could transcribe the information on her tombstone. I'm fairly certain she's the mother of a Civil War soldier I've been researching for quite awhile, but more information could help confirm that.

RE: Zoe Violet Huffer
Thanks so much Judy for the obit. It opens up a whole new prespective on Zoe's life. Zoe was adopted by her father's 2nd wife, but was not the child of his first. He is listed on her records as father, but they couldn't release birth mother's name. The second wife, was not the mother as they had been married long enough that an adoption wouldn't have been needed. Elymas F. Wilkins had one son, six daughters, one step-son and one step-daughter. Zoe was getting a Civil War pension check for her upkeep from her father's service when she was growing up. She had been married to a Gilbert L. Niesse of Indianapolis, IN. Don't know of any biological children for her, but it is good to know she had a family. They moved to NY and then the trail went cold, until I found the Wilkins Family Bible in Hayden Museum in Hayden, Jennings Co, IN. Several of Zoe's extended family members are buried at the Hayden Cem. including her parents. Thanks again for everything. Patricia
