IF YOU NEED FAMILY LINKS MADE, PUT YOUR REQUEST HERE. MY EMAIL ACCOUNT HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING SOME ISSUES. THANKS

If I have added a family member or a good friend, I am happy to transfer memorials. I am not bothered by F.A.G. guidelines in transfers. I am concerned about getting family members "back together." I DO transfer distant relatives since they SHOULD be with family.
I am also happy to transfer memorials of close friends as well as family.

REMEMBER, these sites are in memory of someones' ancestors. If you place a photo on a memorial, make it good enough that you would be happy with it on your own.

All men die...not all men really live.

I am looking for Charles & Flo Liddington. Flo died in 1972. Charlie was alive in 1974. They were my mothers' mother & step-father.
I believe they lived modestly within a half hour of Danville, PA. Also,
I am also searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rd or 34th Battalions of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife named Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, Washington & Fredrick County, MD.

RE: Gustavus Travis Croston
Thank you BIRDMAN. Gustavus appears to be my 4th great grandfather, but I haven't been able to confirm through birth, marriage, or death records. He only has military records which don't provide much in regards to family. I'd gotten most of my inforamtion from others research and census records. No transfer at this time, at least, unitl I can confirm. Bless you for your efforts.

Thank you,
Donna

Gustavus Travis Croston
Hi I was wondering where the date of death came from. I see 1841 all over ancestery.com and other family trees, not to mention on the memorial, I have been unable to find any birth or death records but I did find this statement from West Virginia Legislature House Concurrent Resolution no. 44 "Gustavus Travis Croston died June 3, 1839. His grave is in the quiet woods on his land near the place where Maple Run empties into the North River just west of North River Mills;"

Thank you,
Donna Harvey (Mayle)

RE: George
Ken,

I'm so glad I was able to help.

Thanks for all the work you do for Find a Grave I have seen your pics on some of the soldiers' memorials from the Natl. Cemetery. My son & I were there to help the NPS clean the cemetery in the spring. I go to Sharpsburg often.

If I can be of any more help please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,
Sherry

George
The caretaker at Spring Hill checked the records and George was removed from Green Hill Cemetery's mausoleum in West Virginia in 1957 and his body was brought to Spring Hill and buried.

I sent detailed info to have the memorial in Spring Hill updated with the correct info.

I don't believe that George passed away in PA although that is on the place of death field on the memorial. I searched PA death certs and one does not show up for him. I do not have any proof though where he died.

George
I found a stone for George. I will call the cemetery tomorrow and see if George wasn't moved into Spring Hill rather than moved out like the local burial records stated.

George
Hi. I just received the note that George was removed from his crypt in the other cemetery. I have no idea where he is since local records state he was removed from Spring Hill. I will still check to see if a stone is there for him there.

Dr. George Sponseller
Hi. I saw your request for a pic of the stone of Geo. Sponseller. He is not buried in Spring Hill any longer although he originally was. There is a notation in burial records that his body was removed to Virginia on 8-14-1957.

He was originally buried in Spring Hill in Section 4.4. His wife, Nellie Reddig Sponseller is listed as being buried there.

I will look for a stone when I get a chance but wanted to let you know that records state he was moved.

Thank you so much, BIRDMAN, for photographing the location of the gravesite. It means so much to me because, Number 1, I don't make another photo request, and, Number 2, family will know where he is buried in case anyone would like to place a marker on his grave.

Thanks again for making the extra effort.

Linda
