Bio Photo "When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am in who you are. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart." Fredrick Beekner

Hello,

First of all, I would like to thank the many volunteers that give freely of their time, knowledge, and efforts on behalf of people searching for answers and hoping to breathe life back into their ancestors, walking cemeteries, taking photos, editing photos uploading and creating memorials.

Find a Grave is kept up by a United community of genealogists, historians, (beginners and experts) all of which of course, are VOLUNTEERS. We do not get paid for what we do here.

Creating memorials and fulfilling photo requests is a labor of love for me. If you appreciate something I've added, please pay it forward! If you receive "freely", give "freely"

I firmly believe that our ancestors deserve more than just dates and a cold hard stone on their memorials. It is because of that I try to add as much information as is available to me.

When making CORRECTIONS & TRANSFERS
Please click the "Edit" tab on the individual memorial, then the "Suggest A Correction" link on the specific memorial you would like me to update or transfer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CORRECTIONS AS PUBLIC MESSAGES

If I SUGGEST A CORRECTION to you, please copy and paste the info into the bio and add dates and places in the appropriate fields so they can help others locate the memorial. Maiden names and links to parents are also helpful. If you want to see my sources please just ask. You can also check the memorial, as over the last three years I have been trying to give credit to those that submit valid info in the bio of the memorial.

PHOTOS:
I spend a lot of time traveling, photographing, editing and posting my photos because I love doing it. It also gives me a lot of satisfaction if I can help others find their family. I do not mind if you use the photos for PERSONAL use.

TRANSFER REQUESTS:
I do not transfer to requesters who are rude/demanding, have no profile or who are collectors -- however,I'll always update and link memorials within a day or two or as time allows.
Transfer requests should be requested on the "edit" tab. Include your relationship, and your contributor name and number.

Keep in mind, those of us who list these memorials are only human, sometimes we make mistakes, let us know, and Never forget: We Are Volunteers. VOLUNTEERS. Our time and work are given freely.

The quote of Fredrick Beekner is borrowed from my cousin Mike Perkins memorial.

I am of the belief that no one is truly gone, until they are forgotten.

So with all this said, I will continue to visit cemeteries and take photos of graves, and hope someday to find more of my family, and maybe some of yours. Until then I will remain.... Calmly Searching..........

He sure liked his wives young, didn't he! I figured that he must have wanted his second wife to appear to be older...but the first was younger yet! One of my grand-aunts divorced her first husband and married a guy about half her age. Both lied about their ages to the census takers for the rest of their lives--but their stones are accurate.

I'll be glad to transfer any of your family to you that you want.

No problem, I have had a very hectic few weeks so sorry if I have answered you.
When someone posts a problem, they should close the request if they know the person is not buried there. I did look just to make sure and then closed the request so it is not left on the cemetery list.
This is a wonderful site with just a few bugs in it to keep it interesting.

Weil/Cannon
After reading the obit you sent to me, I noticed that I grew up a few houses away from Murl Cannon. His son Gary still lives in the house. What a small world.

I will make a note on her memorial page
here that she is buried in Durango.

RE: Katherine Kingery
I appreciate your help. It is her birthdate that is in question. Her death certificate states 1871.

Thank you,
Carol Lynn

Katherine Kingery
I am confused by the memorial page you have for Katherine, and hope you can help.

She died in St. Louis, MO. On her death certificate, it stated she was to be buried there, but there is no Find A Grave memorial in MO for her.

Also, her birthdate on her death certificate is 1871, where on her headstone, it is 1864.

All of the census records match the Katherine and George in Cortez, including George's military headstone records.

George died first, and it is possible that Katherine's remains were sent to Cortez.

Do you know if Katherine is actually buried there?

Thank you,
Carol Lynn White

No problem. I don't know why people report a problem and then leave the request open. But I went into the office and "double checked" just to make sure. It's close to my house and was a pretty day.
