Simply enjoy genealogy and preserving history.|
I make mistakes if you tell me, I will fix them.
If they are family, I will gladly transfer.
My aim is to honor the past. Items added to biographies are typically information I receive via email from unknown contributors and post to memorial. I do NOT fact check so take it for what it's worth...further research.
THE STORY TELLERS by unknown
We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems
called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live
again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and
approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but,
instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before. We are the
storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one.
We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before
cry out to us: Tell our story.

Are you related to Percy Granvil Ghent Find A Grave Memorial# 37132359? A picture was added by you of a couple. Do you know the names of the persons in the picture? Are you related to his wife, Eula Clark Ghent Find A Grave Memorial# 37132404? There is a slightly different picture but seems to be the same two people. Iím related to Eula Clark Ghent. You can find my email on my contributor page. I would like to hear from you. Thanks.

Im pretty sure you have photos of the wrong headstones attached to Colonel William McGehee b. 1771, Person County, North Carolina, d. 8 Aug 1852, Alexandria, Calhoun County, Alabama.
Your photos are of a different William McGehee b. 1782, Virginia, d. 3 May 1809, Alabama. You can clearly read March 1782 and 4 May on the headstone, and that doesn't jive with the Colonel
This is a URL for the McGehees and you'll find both Williams referenced.

|Nancy Lundgreen||RE: Carl Preston Anderson is not her son. His mother was Mary Melvina Richardson Anderson.|
Okay... I just finished doing some extensive genealogy on Carl and his family. His father's name was also Carl Preston Anderson and his mother was Mary Melvina Richardson. You can double check my research on Familysearch.org. if you'd like. It's verified with sources.
|Amber Williams||RE: Charley Chesley Pickle|
I apologize I was not more specific! Yes the headstone picture. I wanted to make sure that was where he was buried because the Pickle family history book that I have has him buried in Bethel cemetery. Which is why we could not find him! I really appreciate the information and it will mean a lot to my grandmother and myself! One day in 2011 I took her on a Pickle family history tour of Texas, in which we started at William Chesley Pickle, his bridge and homestead, his gravestone, etc. and then on down the line from there ending in her father's grave. We went to old buildings and homesteads and I tried to record as much of her stories and memories as I could while I took her on the tour of her family's history in Texas. My daughter got to stand next to the headstone of her 5th great-grandfather, and every one we could find after that. It doesn't get much cooler than that!

I see you added a photo for his grave. Do you know where you got the photo? Was it at Dabbs cemetery, or Bethel cemetery?
He is my 3rd greatgrandfather. Thank you!
