I am researching Byrne/Byrn, Fifield/Pease/Smith, Cowden/Couden, Burtnett/Burnett, Coy/Champlin, Card, Cahoon and the Colquhoun Clan and also enjoy visiting cemeteries in different regions with my husband and fulfilling photo requests. If there is a memorial you would like updated or transferred, please let me know.|
Feel free to use the tombstone photos my husband has taken that I have submitted or sent to you, in any way you choose, except for creating duplicate Find A Grave memorials or adding them to your own memorials for which you have asked me to delete mine, or which you have subsequently deleted after my transferring the memorials to you. Please contact me about using any cemetery profile photos. Thank you.

I am not sure which photos you are taking about, when you mention a more readable photo. I just use a putty knife to scrape off the worst of the stuff on the stone and then use a stiff nylon scrub brush to clean out the engraving on the stone the best I can. I try to get the best possible readable photo to document the markings on the stone
|Sara Patton||RE: Sarah Whitney Billups|
Sarah Billups is mentioned by name in her father's, John Hayzlett, will written Sept 23, 1830; proved Nov 8, 1830-Kanawha Co, WV Will Bk 1:104 "Having given to my three children Andrew Hayzlett, Sarah Billups, and James B. Hayzlett Sundry Articles...." Marriage Returns of (minister) James Johnston dated 1 June 1802, lists marriage of John Hazelette & Anna Beck. Kanawha Co, WV Marriage Records 1794-1826 p. 3. Anna Beck Hayzlett is also named as John's wife in the same will mentioned above. Anna Hayzlett is known to followed five of her 8 children to Hancock Co, IN after her husband's death in 1830. She died there in 1847. Probate Case Records Index, 1828-1948, Hancock County, IN, page 78: "James Hazlett makes final settlement as administrator of Anna Hazlett's estate in Indiana. The residue goes to: Andrew, William and James Hazlett, William Barrett and wife, and James Bilup and wife. August 8, 1850. Hancock Co, IN Probate Bk 1828-1948: 50-51 shows several heirs including James "Bilups" each receiving $84.41 "said Estate the sum of Six hundred and Seventy five dollars and thirty two cents, to be divided Equally between the eight heirs of said intestate, to wit Andrew Hazlett(1), Wm Barrett (& his wife 2), William Hazlett 3), James Bilup and his wife (4), James Hazelett (5) blank(6) blank (7) blank (8)* being the Eighty four dollars and forty one and one half cents to each of said heirs." And again on Nov 14, 1850,in Kanawha co, WV: "Deed between James Hazelett in his own right, and as attorney in fact, Andrew Hazelett and wife, William Barrett and wife, William Hayzelette and wife, James Billps (sic) and wife, and Washington Hayzlette and wife, John Moore and wife, Wiley King and wife of the first part, and Andrew Skiles of the second part for $800 grant and sell "all their rights & title to two certain tracts of land on Coal River in the county of Kanawha viz: one tract of two hundred and fifty acres between fall creek and the first branch above both, emptying into the Coal River, granted by the Commonwealth to John Hazelette by patent" dated 11 August 1829 and the other granted to Andrew Donnelly by patent dated 13 Jan 1800- 300 acres adjoining land first mentioned on Coal above the upper Falls. All the land on the west side of the Coal "supposed to contain 120 acres being same land occupied by John Hazslette in his life time...." (Kanawha Co, WV Deed Bk R:31-32) In the 18th and 19th centuries, a woman's property automatically belonged to her husband, hence the Hayzlett daughters are not always named but their husbands are.

Oh my gosh. Glad you caught that. My "Old eyes" playing tricks again..
|John Speer||No problem|
When I visit next month, I was planning on adding lot pictures for the other requests I know are unmarked, so I'll add one for that lot, too. Thanks for getting back to me!
Thank you so much for the photos.-Jeanne
|John Speer||Elisha Starbuck in Nantucket|
He is unmarked. Are you looking for a general photo of the empty lot itself?
|Kathy||Re: Matthew English|
I deleted the memorial I entered. I just say please delete. I hope the other one will be deleted as well. One CORRECT one is all that's needed. I've asked people who seem to prefer to add a cemetery with a "new version" of the cemetery name, so they can add what now becomes a duplicate and I haven't had much luck at that either. I guess an email to Find A Grave is sometimes the only why to get a cemetery name corrected. Sorry about the duplicate, it wasn't intentional. Kathy

I am so sorry, I usually looks on both sides. I did go out today and have included his military plaque. I did add his wife Catherine and their son Kenneth to Find A Grave the other day. Their are other Burick's buried here, if you are interested in their gravesite photo's, I will be glad to take more pictures. It was my pleasure to find family for you. Kay

|Phil Knox||"Infant son".. who was he?|
This is just a guess: This may be a child who died in infancey born to William Travis Troth and wife, the former Anna Billups who were married in 1850.. Just a suspicion on my part. But it would make sense that his name would be "Troth" and that he is buried in a Billups cemetery. Anna was a "Billups".
