WINTER 2016 MESSAGE:|
We recently moved too Salem, Oregon, so are behind on our edits. But we will get to yours as soon as we can! Sorry for any delay.
My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:
◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.
◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.
◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.
Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.
If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?
On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.
I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Mr Dreisbach has no surviving marker, but his grave is in mid foreground of the photo.

I found your message here on Find-a-Grave. Since it was from 5 years ago I don't know if it is still good.
My children are Unangst descendants. I have been working on a tree for them and wonder if you have a tree online at Ancestry.com. I already have considerable information but would like to compare notes so to speak.

Thank you for the edit requests. They will be processed. Just a reminder, or in case you don't know, I thought you might like to know that I transfer out of guidelines. If you would like custody of any memorials I manage please submit an Edit request using the "Suggest any other correction or addition" option. If I am not related I will transfer. Thank you!

Hi Carrie, I have sponsored my 5X Great Grandfather, George Geasserr, memorial 31557182. I was wondering if you are still transferring sponsored memorials. I have some information I would like to add to his memorial, if not just let me know and I will send it to you.

Hello. I just wanted to let you know why I declined this request. Even though they are on the same tombstone, Garnet and Edith Dreisbach are not spouses, they are siblings.
|B Stone||"Martha" Burquist Dreisbach Memorial #91532812|
Someone has wanted me to combine this memorial with theirs for quite a while, and I am NOT willing to do so.
The picture and bio that I put on my site, when I established her memorial, have been in my possession for years. This other contributor has copied both and used it on their own memorial, and I believe they should delete that memorial, as they are NOT family members on the Burquist side. She is a Burquist, and belongs to me.
They’ve already taken over Ed Dreisbach, which is fine, as he isn’t my biological uncle, BUT Martha is, and I will not combine with anyone else.

I can't seem to find the other Minnie Bourgy for comparison. Please explain what it was you would like me to do.
Thank you for your time.

It's fun working with so many good people on Findagrave. Wish I had more time for it, but the living come first...
I've sent the owner of her memorial another request to correct the cemetery...
