He was born 11 Sep 1699 in New Castle, Pennsylvania now Delaware

His parents were John Bettle(1663-1715) and his 2nd wife Abigail (Matern) Bettle (1677-1713).
The inscription for the gravestone is:

When I am Dead and in my Grave
And all my Bones are Rotten
Remember me when this you see
Lest I should be forgotten
from a genealogy compiled by Lewis D. Cook, F.A.S.G., F.G.S.P. titled BETTLE OF STEPNEY, COUNTY MIDDLESEX, ENGLAND, OF SALEM COUNTY, N. J., AND OF PHILADELPHIA

|William Watson||Hatchers and Claytons in Dora cemetery|
Thank you for taking and posting the photos of the markers for Rebecca Hatcher Clayton, her husband Eli Clayton, and her niece, Nita B Hatcher Perry Neal. I'm glad to have confirmation of their dates and burial locations.
I apologize for taking so long to repond to your nice photos. I got tied up in other matters, and the notification of your photos got pushed off the top of my inbox.
Thanks again, and very best regards,
