I was born in Gadsden, Alabama, in 1981. I currently live in Bettendorf, Iowa, with my wife, two kids, three rodents, five guppies, and one cory catfish. I'm an amateur actor, and sometimes professional theatre technician. I'm an organizer and writer/director for a semi-regular living history event in local historic cemetery Oakdale Memorial Gardens. I am also in the process of nominating Oakdale to the National Register of Historic Places.|
I'm also a genealogy buff, researching the following families:
Crow/Crowe, Couch, Oliver, West, Fenn/Fann, Humphries, Fleming, Scott, Petree/Petri, Mayer, Zimmerman, Smith, Sevier/Xavier Goode/Good/Goad, Ray, Henry, and McKeme (?) in the Southeast U.S. (AL, TN, NC, GA, VA, SC, AR) New England (PA, MA), England, France, Germany, Scotland, Ireland, and Spain.
Hatton, Doyle, Green, Fritsch, and Thomas in the Midwest (MO, IL, KY), Virginia, Ireland, and Germany.
I am also willing to do limited genealogical research in Scott County, Iowa. E-mail me for info.

|Cadwallider||Governor George C. Wallace's Obituary|
You have done a grave disservice to a great man by your scanty and ill written obituary. You have also disrespected him by not listing him as GOVERNOR of the State of Alabama, which is the highest office he attained. He also never used the appellation "Jr." I sense more than a little "left leaning" hostility in your threadbare obituary of this great man. I will see what I can do to get this matter rectified.

Thanks so much for capturing the Weidenpesch graves in Oakdale.
I discovered this gravesite several years ago and always meant to take a photo of it. You have taken care of that for me.
I'm not related to the Weidenpesch's, but I think its a very interesting tombstone.
I live across the street from Oakdale and love walking through it. Its a neat place.

Dustin, These 2 people are my mom's grandparents...I have added they're headstone pictures but they are not buried at the Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport..They are buried at Oakdale Memorial Gardens on Eastern Avenue in Davenport...If you could kindly change the cemetery setting I would really appreciate it...

|Carol ||IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!|
Great newspaper article on you. Quad-City Times Sunday June 14??
Wish they'd done more on the application process and what you had to do to get Oakdale Memorial Gardens into the National Register of Historic Places.
I know you put a lot of time into this designation.
And I salute Deb, the office mgr. and board member, for supporting and helping you.

|David J Webb||Von Maur in Davenport|
I am researching Von Maur in Davenport, specifically George Karl Von Maur, son of Henry W and Dorothy Vollmer Von Maur. Your photograph of the marker for Henry seems to show George just beneath his father. At least, I can make out his wife's marker, Marie Antoinette Sollo, d. 1991, just beside where I think George is interred. Would it be possible to examine your records to see what the marker says, ... and/or enter the record for his burial in Findagrave? Thanks.
