Bio and Links
Bio Photo The Yucaipa Valley Genealogical Society was created in 1982. The first Board of Directors was: President; Bonnie Jacobsen, Vice President; John Reynolds, Recording Secretary; Rosalind Bennett, Treasurer; Eloise Cunningham. At the close of 1982 there was a total of 59 members of which 53 were Charter Members.
In 2007, under the presidency of Jamie Daniel, the canvassing of Desert Lawn Memorial Park was started.
In 2008, under the presidency of Gena Ortega, the indexing of birth, marriage and death records reported in the Yucaipa-Calimesa News Mirror was added as an additional project.
In 2009, under the presidency of Earl Giddings, an enormous data-base was created to combine all of the previous efforts and includes thousands of photographs of tombstones to be entered on, not only the Society records but also on Find A Grave.
In 2010, under the presidency of Floyd Ferguson, we are adding information on three other local cemeteries; Stewart Sunnyslope, San Gorgonio and Mountain View.
Since many tombstones provide only the year of birth and death, we have undertaken the project to locate additional information from the Social Security Death Index, California Death Index, California Birth Index, California Marriage Index and our YVGS data-base.
We are aware that some of the CADI information of surnames and maiden names are not always spelled correctly but hope they will be beneficial.
When doing your research, you find we have made an incorrect entry, please notify us.
We have no estimate of when these projects will be completed .
We hope we have helped you with your search and welcome you to visit our website.

RE: Mary Behne
> "Are you telling me that you disagree with the obit that I found for Mary and that she did not die in Redlands Community Hospital? Barbara YVGS"

Sorry Barbara, but I'm dealing with hundreds of communications each week, and thousands of records on 13,940+ individuals in my database.'s messaging system doesn't let me review my past communication with you. If there is a way to see it it's not being made easy to find, so I can't see what precisely was said that led you to think I'm challenging what hospital she died in unless you copy & paste it when responding as I did above. It is good Internet etiquette to do so.

In reviewing my database entry for my aunt Mary, I can't see any claim being made in the database that she either did or did not die in any particular hospital. I don't recall claiming that she did or didn't either. What my records cite came primarily from the California Death Index for 1940-1997, and I have not mentioned what hospital because I have not seen the actual obit.

On what are you basing your question, so I can investigate and formulate a better answer?

BTW - If you found my aunt's obit why didn't you post a link to it? Or the image itself? I'd love to have a copy of the image for my records. So would others I suspect. A link would be great.

RE: William Henderson#48837432
Hi Barbara,

The William Alexander Henderson you are searching for is the same person as William A. Henderson #48837432. There is a biography about him on this link:

The following is an excised quote from his mother, Mary (Archibald) Henderson's obituary:

"She is survived by four daughters and one son, all former residents of this city, as follow: Janet M. Henderson, Margaret P. Henderson, Mary A. Henderson, Isabel R. Henderson, all of Los Angeles, and William A. Henderson of Beaumont, California."

Thank you very much for getting back to me on this. It seems as if the disinterred graves may not be recorded anywhere. Again, thanks!

transfer of memorial
Thank you so much for promptly making the changes on Margaret McDonald, and also for transferring her to me to manage. I have one more request! Could I please manage my grandfather as well? Clovis Dalton McDonald #91960568. Thank you so much! Again my member # is #48584500 (Lacey Ross).

Linking Margaret McDonald to her Father
Margaret Jane Jones McDonald (#91960672) is my grandmother. Her father, Pat B Jones (#68036878) is her father. He is linked to his first wife, Ronalda Hair, but he remarried and his second wife's name is Emma Strain (1903-1986). Unfortunately, she isn't on Find a Grave. Can Margaret be linked to her father, Pat B. Jones and have her mother just written in as a note? I don't want her linked to Ronalda, Pat's first wife.

Also, I am a contributor to Find a Grave and manage a few family graves. I would love to manage my grandmother's grave. If that is a possibility, my member number is #48584500 (Lacey Ross) if you would like to transfer it! If not, I really appreciate the above graves being linked. Thank you so much!

MY Aunt Laura
You made a memorial for Laura Francis Peoples at the Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Do you know anything about the rest of her family? Her husband was Samuel Peoples.
Thank You
