Suddenly all my Ancestor's are behind me. "Be Still" they say. "Watch And Listen. You are the result of the Love of Thousands."|
Genealogy is my passion. It has been for 39 years. It's been fascinating meeting so many family & friends, searching libraries & court houses in different states & visiting so many cemeteries. I've found we are all searching for the same thing, our roots. Be kind. The bad attitudes I've encountered on here amaze me. I'm glad I don't have to experience it in my world. Thank goodness the good override the bad.
I closed my messages due to the rudeness I have experienced. That is my right! TO LEAVE ME A MESSAGE ABOUT A MEMORIAL, click "Edit", then "Suggest any other correction or addition", type your message then click "send this message".
Please do not post cut out obituaries from newspapers in the photo section of my memorials! Death certificates are ok, they are documents. Obituaries make memorials look bad and there's a place for them. I value the look of my memorials. Send the obits. I will post to where they belong in the biography NOT picture section & will give you credit. I'm slowly taking them off & putting the obit's in the bio as is my right per Find A Grave. When someone asks me not to do something to their memorial, I don't. It's rude to go against the creator's of the memorial's wishes. Find A Grave says no obits in the flower/note section. I would think they would agree on this too. As for posting info to the biography section, I'm thrilled to post whatever you send.
I've worked on Mound Cemetery in Pike Co. for many years. I "WILL NOT" transfer my memorials for this cemetery. It's taken a lot of time to walk this cemetery, documenting each grave. I will gladly add any edit's. I'm working on biographies for the deceased. My hope is that this cemetery will someday open like a book, as suggested by Find A Grave. This is where my loved ones are at rest & where I will be laid to rest. I will transfer memorials for any other cemetery as long as they are not of family, friends or close associates.
Feel free to use my gravestone photo's. I take them for those whose health prevents them from getting to the cemetery, for those who can't make it because of distance and to preserve history. I won't take pictures if snow is on the ground surrounding the stones. I realize a nice picture on a beautiful clear day is much more favored in the Genealogy world. I'll take this time to thank all of you who have given me such encouragement to continue. Thank you so much!
If I've made a duplicate, it wasn't intentional. I'll gladly remove. I'm not perfect but then neither are you. A polite heads up is all that's necessary for me to correct an error.
Don't post obituaries/bio's to flower/note section or correct me there. Send an Edit. I will make the changes. Per Find A Grave, "biographical information and obituaries are not to be included in a virtual flower."
