Thurmans and Victorys

I noticed on here that you maintain the pages for William and Rhoda Thurman. I had to make an account on here because I've been looking for information on them for so long.

According to an 1870 Missouri census, my great-great-great grandfather, Calvin Simuel Victory was living with the Thurmans. I have very little information on him, and my family has been searching for years for anything. We don't know his parents, any siblings... Nothing!

I'm very happy I found this page today. If you know anything at all as to why he was living with William and Rhoda, or anything about his parents, please let me know! If you need to, you can email me at

The only thing I seen found that may be another connection is a probate index from Dade County mentioning the estate of a Wm. B. Victor, which was curated by a B.G. Thurman, and mentions a J.B. Thurman, who is on the same census page as William and Rhoda Thurman. I couldn't find a connection between them until I found your pages, that has a Berry Green as a brother to William, and a John being the father.

I'm still unsure how or if Wm. B. Victory is related to Calvin, and if Victorys and Thurmans are somehow related, and if not, why my ggg-grandfather was living with them.

Sorry for so much text, I'm very excited to find new information! If you can, please get back to me!!

Dody Clark-Day I want to thank you for putting a memorial candle on my fathers page. I just heard of this web-site today! I have had so much joy finding out about my father. I lost him in World War II. He knew he had a daughter, which he named, then he was sent over seas. My fathers plane went down over The English Channel on August 12, 1944, and I was born August 2, 1944! He was a fighter pilot with the Eighth Army Air Force. My Mother received word of his missing on August 24, 1944. Thank you again, Marilyn McCain

Estel Wood
I noticed that you left a flower for Estel, #47672035, and thought you might be interested to know that I have posted a photo for him.

Also, if there are others in which you have an interest in that same cemetery, I either already have posted photos or will be posting them in the coming days.

Ivan Ackley
I will stop by there and take a closer look to see if the top of the stone is Ivan. I do know that the last two letters is "an" I will let you know. I live just down the street from the cemetery

Sadie Ackley
The small tombstone I attached has no birth or death dates but appears in plot 828 and has one name on the top, "Sadie", and there is another tombstone of the same size next to Sadie and it looks like "Vivian". Both stones are rather weathered but I could make out Sadie for sure. The other tombstone is also on 828 plot and is probably her sister??

John Trapp
Last year you left flowers for John Trapp memorial# 82232733. Are you related to him. Where did you get the middle name of Thomas? I have looked for proof of it for years and have only found initials. Please contact me at

Lt John Trapp
There is no proof to data that his middle name is Thomas.

In fact what proof there is for any Thomas Trapp in Tennessee indicated that Lt John Trapp either had a brother Thomas OR it was his father Martin Trapp's middle name.
You may contact me at for more information.

Williams in Vaughan Cemetery
Hi, I was wondering if you knew or were related to the Williams family members who are buried in Vaughan Cemetery? Lucinda and her family came from Mississippi to Texas. Thanks
