Bio Photo A special person, a special face, someone we loved and cannot replace. Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories they leave behind ~~~ unknown

Like a lot of members I started with FindaGrave looking for my ancestors to preserve their memories for future generations. I cannot begin to tell you how Thankful I am for all the wonderful people that went out of their way to help me in fulfilling my quest. So I wanted to pay it forward and I found the best way I could do that is to work with veterans and their families. They have sacrificed so much to preserve our freedom and as a spouse of a NAVY veteran this is the least I could do. Since then I have been working with a wonderful group of volunteers and the International Wargraves Photography Project adding and editing veteran memorials to the National Cemeteries.

Currently I am working on Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery checking and cross checking every name for errors and or duplicates and sending requests for corrections when needed.

I am also helping FindaGrave contributor Tom Brocher (#47674416) to upload headstone photos for Golden Gate National Cemetery.

Suggestions & Corrections: Please make sure your Memorial # is listed along with an explanation. If your correspondence is RUDE in any way, it will be ignored. This site was created to help others, not to criticize, harass or bully. Be kind to your fellow volunteers, since we are all trying to achieve the same goal of helping others on the amazing website!

If your correction is not completed within a couple of days do not send a second request. Find A Grave has a thirty day policy to have your corrections honored and as the Guidelines state Have Patience it will get done.

Also lately I have had too many inaccurate requests to make changes to the memorials that I manage and it is getting very frustrating. While I do love getting information, I verify it is correct before I honor that request whether it is received by SAC or the new edit feature. If you have your message and email address disabled I cannot respond back to you to let you know of the inaccuracies. Please do not expect me to make any changes that you asking if you are not going to give me the courtesy to notify you so I will have no choice but to delete the SAC and or decline the request in the edit feature.
**********************************************
Transfers: I have had many contributors asking to have the same memorial transferred to them. We cannot please everyone so I am only adhering to the four generation rule (siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). As the guidelines state the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it. A wonderful way to gather all your ancestors together and achieve that goal is by setting up virtual a cemetery.

I will not transfer bulk surname requests. No exceptions so please do not ask.

If you do not want the memorial transferred but have accurate information to add, I will be more than happy to add it and credit you with the information.

Lastly

I don't always send a thank you so I would like to give a SINCERE "Thank You" to all the contributors and photographers for all that you have done for me and for FindaGrave. It really means a lot.

Happy Hunting!

Thank you so much.
Dear Cindy,

Thank you so much for searching and finding my grandfathers marker. I have misplaced the picture I had. When we heard about the hurricane that was coming to the islands, I was desperate to get a picture. I knew it would be fine, but I was still worried. My grandfather was my father and best friend. I miss him everyday. We brought his ashes back to the home he loved the most. We hope to get back at there from Colorado very soon. Again, thank you for bringing a smile to my face. What you do for people is amazing!

Eula Virginia Stewart Graham, memorial 105391542.

You have her as the wife of John Thomas Stewart 1873-1942. That was her father. Her husband, as you have correctly listed is Jeremiah Joseph Graham.

I sent a correction but don't know if it will go through with her father (John Thomas Stewart) listed as both her father and her husband.

Thought I would send this note to avoid confusion.

Thanks.

RE: Thayer M Bishop/Mary Thayer
Cindy - thanks so much. Your entry was really unbelievably helpful, because two of the Thayer children (Ida and Mary) were entered in the Glendale burial book with ages and causes of death, but no date. I was able to find Ida in the scattered entries in the old Akron newspaper index, but not Mary. After an exhaustive search I found the family on the census in Akron in 1850 (name spelled "Thare" and indexed as "Share"), so I could then approximate a year of birth and death for Mary. But your entry provided me the exact date. None of the Thayer graves are marked except for Allen, the father, and the only thing readable on his is the age. It was trying to identify the 'mystery stone' that lead me to the info on the rest of the family. Wish I could find Margaret Bishop, the mother. She died between 1870-1880, but is not listed in any of the Cleveland city cemeteries.

Thanks again!
