9th generation Eastern Kentuckian.|
Currently living in central Texas.
I have enjoyed genealogy since 1992.
Good practices for memorials and photos:
*Check different variations of the name before adding a memorial. Last name Talmadge or Tallmadge for example. Chris Ross Smith might be listed as C.R. Smith, Chris Smith, Ross Chris Smith, etc. There should only be ONE memorial per person!!
*For larger cemeteries, make every effort to locate a cemetery map before adding memorials so you can list the correct plot and/or section. Many cemetery maps are available online. This is especially important for folks who want to find that grave in person.
*CROP AND EDIT YOUR PHOTOS BEFORE UPLOADING! Straighten them, remove distracting background elements, and especially remove bird poop. Who wants that in their photo?
*Please don't add memorials for the living! If there is no date of death on a stone and I cannot find proof of death for that person I don't add a memorial.
*If there are two names on a stone and one is living, I choose to remove the living person's date of birth from the headstone photo. In this day of identity theft, why be a contributor to that? Just Photoshop the date out with the eraser tool.

Cheryl, thank you so very much for your work on the memorials for various Saunders family members today. They were an important part of Wimberley history, and John Henry Saunders' house still stands today. I appreciate all that you have done.

You are so welcome. I was at that cemetery by mistake, but since I was there, I took photos. I'm glad I got some that were actually wanted by some people. I didn't take photos of all the stones, and some of them are illegible, but I'm hoping to go back there in three weeks and take a few more pictures. If there is someone else you want from there, let me know. There are a lot of Isermans, but I only uploaded those photos that were clear enough to see what the person's name was. Most of my photos came out horrible because I hadn't yet figured out how to use my camera. I'm still learning.
All the best.

I've added a picture to his memorial. I am related to Ples Miles, bottom row, far right. Not sure if I have the right Nye, but considering the location of his grave, my family was from the Lockhart area. If this is not him, please feel free to remove the picture.

Thank You, so much, Cheryl! I hate asking....because I know what they entail. So, THANK YOU!
I hope you're healing well...and, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your help and hard work!
Please let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help YOU!
I can't believe how many relatives there are in the San Marcos Cemetery! Funny part is: San Marcos is where my older brother went to college...and, he had no clue all this history was THERE, right next to him, all the time! :)
Thanks, again, for your kindness! I am marking you as friend, and mean it!

Hello, Cheryl! What WONDERFUL WORK you've done in the San Marcos Cemetery! I am so happy to see it.
Do you have issues with transferring memorials of relatives? Some people do....so, I don't mind sharing information, if you don't like to transfer.
Mary O. Brown was the daughter of my great-great uncle, Ossian Tigner (O. T.) Brown.
If you don't mind transferring, I'd be happy to maintain. If you do mind, just let me know and I'll share what information I have for the memorial and we can establish links to other relatives, then!
Thank You, again, for all your hard work! It's BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you for taking the time to photograph the cemetery and post Geraldine's headstone.
