A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.

Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

Yellow Rose of Texas - Judy in California
RE: Robert Stacy
You are more than welcome to use any of my photos. I also have a not so good photo of Chet and Martha if you do not have one. It is blurry but you can still see the high cheek bones of the Stacy clan. It seems like all my grandma's had the same look. I remember my grandmother Smither the best but they all seem to resemble each other. Must be the hair, parted in the middle, drawn back in a bun. They didn't have "perms' back then for 'salt of the earth" farm women. I already receive your emails and enjoy reading about this branch of my family. I owe you some updated info but have to wait until after Easter. Too many great grandchildren to sent boxes of "Easter" too right now. Also, this spring our tribe increases by 5 new great grandchildren (one set of twins!) so I am busy crocheting sweaters, blankets and booties for all.

Sincerely,
Judy Stacy Bradshaw

Lawrence Evans
Please feel free to use the pictures. How are you related to Lawrence Evans? He was my great grandfather. My grandmother Louiese was his oldest child.

Cook Family....
I'm part of the Cook Family. Geraldine Fincher is my grandma.... I was just wondering if you could kinda throw me some names of the family. I haven't really been able to locate any research and I'd really like to. Thanks.

Hilliard D. & Beatrice P. Todd
You show that Hilliard D.(42147556) & Beatrice P. Todd (42147535) are buried in the Anderson Cemetery. They are buried in the Todd Cemetery, a small cemetery on Highway 905 in the Shell Community near where they lived. Also, dates on tombstone are different.
