I live in Chesapeake, Virginia and am a Civil War history buff and a lover of old cemeteries. I love to travel around Virginia with my Labrador Retrievers, enjoy the solitude and taking pictures of the battlefields. |
As far as the memorials that I post, most of them are not family members of mine but rather memorials that I found to be really impressive when I was strolling though a cemetery or family members of photo requests that I fulfilled who didn't already have a memorial established. If you would like me to transfer any of them, please let me know.
Anyone who wishes to use any of my photographs for non-commercial purposes has my permission. Also, if I have posted a memorial of a relative that you object to, please notify me and I will remove it.
Many thanks to all of you who have shared stories of your family with me. Every day that I volunteer is a history lesson for me and I cherish the many stories that you have shared.

I am so grateful to you for your generous service in posting the memorials for my Tynes descendants, and doubly grateful for the transfers. Thirdly, your extended generosity in providing other websites and search possibilities was way beyond the duties expected of a Findagrave manager. If I could post flowers on your page, I would send roses. Barbara Tynes Claiborne 47704197
Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for photographing this headstone. I have been working with a Gordon family member for some time and your headstone picture has helped us tremendously with family tree efforts.

Hi - my connection is a very round about way. My dad's sister married a Barton, my uncle George Lloyd Barton III. These are his relatives and I am sitting here with a genealogy paper that takes the family back to the first Governor of Virginia - George Yeardley. Transfer always make it much easier to work on the memorials. :) Your photographs a great!

Thank you for getting this information for me and at least the unmarked grave location. I could use the headstone for his Dad & Mom if needed.

Thank you for posting the photo... how did you confirm that he is buried here with no marking on the headstone? Would appreciate any info. I believe this to be great-great-great grandfather.
|Bill Cheatham||RE: Cheathams at Cedar Hill|
Jeff - The information on Bessie came indirectly from Bruce Saunders & Pat Holland who went through Cedar Hill Cemetery back in 1999/2000 looking for Cheathams. They indicated that their information was based on "family histories, obits and the card catalogue of the cemetery". Bessie's information is very simple, just "Bessie Cheatham, died 14 Jan. 1967 D.C., age 86" (no Block or Lot listed). So I suspect they got this info. from the card catalogue. It's likely that Bessie doesn't have a tombstone or marker, hence why you couldn't find her. However, it does make sense that she's buried there since she was the mother of William Staley Cheatham and died a year after William's wife Tess who is buried there. Hope this clarifies things a little. Best regards - Bill
Jeff - Thank you for transferring the two Coulbourn memorials over to me. Best regards - Bill C.
