Bio Photo Welcome -

We are doing a holy service by remembering the dead, and preserving history.

I think we all have a piece of the puzzle and if everyone contributes, questions will be answered.

This a wonderful site for remembering people. Peoples lives are fascinating and they deserve to be remembered and documented.

Please remember we are not just entering names or stones, but real people. Please ask yourself if your memorial is search-able. All memorials should have last names. Women who never marry, and children don't have maiden names. There is no maiden name unless the name changes. Also please do not use ().

Please do NOT create duplicates.

If you notice any mistakes, please let me know, and I will be happy to fix them. Nobody is perfect, we are all fallible human beings mostly doing the best we can at the moment.

We are merely stewards of 'our' memorials - we manage them and are entrusted with their care and maintenance, but we do not technically 'own' them.

Please read the FAQs (frequently asked questions). Thanks, and please try to resolved unknown burials ASAP.

Please free to use any of my photos with appropriate citations. Will also add updates, -the more info, the better. I don't have a policy about transfers - ask and we can work it out.

"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always." (author unknown)

Sorry about the duplicate memorial. I meant to add my photo to the existing one.

So many people have no headstones and this couple has two at different cemeteries. Tomorrow I will look for my directions for creating a link from mine to the other one. I am not sure what else to do with this info.

RE: Hannah Gallagher
Don't forget to contact the State of Michigan to support the efforts of China Twp. to have the graves from this abandoned cemetery moved to the Balfour Cemetery which is close by and maintained by China Twp. The headstones & graves are falling into the Belle River. China Twp would like to move the burials & remaining headstones & place a memorial marker @ Balfour for those unmarked.

Don't know if you received my email or you may be away.

Would you mind transferring Louisa's memorial over to me for management. Next week I plan to pull apart the archives ledger books and see what I can find out about her siblings and parents. This person should have some sort of relatives. Thanks.

Hi Donna,

I'm doing OK, thanks. Haven't had much time for Find A Grave or any genealogy stuff but hope to do more later in the summer. I did make the fix you requested.

Hope you are well. Take care.

Hey Donna! How ya doing?

Thanks for tip off. Funny thing is, I don't remember being given her memorial to manage. O_o

But, I do know that is my information in her bio. It is definitely my style/way of putting things. :p So whether I sent it to Michael & he pasted it in, or he gave me her memorial and I did it, either way, yeah, it was my goof and I thank you for spotting that.

It takes a lot of sets of eyes to get this stuff done & it be right. Lots of proof-readers this way. For both the normal error editing, plus the true data proofing of it all. ^_^

Many thanks.
