RE: DeMosses in Harrison Center/Wooden Cemetery
Hi Diane,
Thank you very much for the offer!

Yes, I'm related to both. The elder Thomas DeMoss (58781098) is my 4th great grandfather, and his son Thomas Jefferson DeMoss (55115593) is my 3rd great grand uncle.

Regards,
Larry

RE: DeMosses in Harrison Center/Wooden Cemetery
Hi Diane,
The link was just what I was looking for; thanks!

The main thing I was trying to figure out is where the birth year for Thomas DeMoss (55115593), my 3rd great uncle, would have come from, and the answer is that Tombaugh's walkthrough records an inscription of "ae 77y" .

But I'm almost certain Thomas was only 41 when he died, based on multiple censuses, info from the local paper, and ancestry.com data said to be from his father's family Bible.

Judging from the photo here, I'd guess it's next to impossible to read his stone these days.

Thank you again for the pointer, it's very much appreciated.

Best regards,
Larry

RE: Votra in Maplewood Cemetery
Thanks Diane. Prayers most appreciated.
As you enter the gate section 1 is on your right. There are some large evergreen bushes. Go past those. It's close to the Oleksy graves. Better yet drop me a note at nvha01@hotmail.com and I'll arrange to meet you and take you there. The stones are flat and can't be seen till you're on top of them.

I'll take another look when I get a chance. It was a little cold today for much grave walking. My wife has cancer now and I don't get over there as often as I used to.

DeMosses in Harrison Center/Wooden Cemetery
Hi,
I noticed a message you left a few years ago for the owner of the memorials of several DeMosses. In the message you mentioned you had access to the online records for many DeMosses in what is now Wooden Cemetery in Indiana.

I'm trying to find information about the family of Thomas Moss (58781098). Would you be able to let me know what these online records are, and if they are generally accessible? It looks like they could be a real help.

Thanks,
Larry W.

RE: Sylvia Harsh Williams
No, I am not related. I go out to the Preston Cemetery alot for photo requests etc. Had a lady contact me looking for her family that are buried at Preston. Her dad was Jesse Harsh, brother to Sylvia (Harsh) Williams and that is how I started doing a little research on the Harsh's was for her. Her dad, Jesse and his sister Glessie (Harsh) Botts, Henry Harsh, his brother, and Sylvia (Harsh) Williams are all in unmarked graves and had to verify their location through the care taker of the plot map for Jesse's daughter. She has Jesse Harsh's memorial. Thanks for asking! :-)
