I am an amatuer genealogist living in Connecticut. I've always been interested in old cemeteries and am a volunteer at Cedar Hill in Hartford.

A note about photo requests: I enjoy helping people out by filling them, but in order to make the an easier process, please consider finding out whatever you can about the location of the grave you seek in the cemetery. If it's an active cemetery, you can call their office or the church/synagogue the grave is located in, and they're usually very happy to look it up for you. That will help me fill requests faster. Otherwise it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. :)

I can't speak for all contributors, but as for me, use my photos in any way you need to. I don't mind if you add them to your family tree web site, your ancestry.com account, etc. I take the photos so that others can use them for reference.

Re:Mary Atkins Doane
Chris,

Thanks for the offer to retake the picture. Before I ask you to do that I will try to see if I can clear up the one you posted through photoshop first. If I can't get it so the glare is gone and it is a little crisper to read I'll let you know. If there is anything that I can help you with from the UP OF MI please let me know.

Re:Find A Grave Memorial# 21314677 Mary Atkins Doane
Christine, You posted the photo on this memorial for Mary Atkins Doane's headstone. I am putting together a book of my family history and Mary Doane is an ancestor. would be my Paternal Great Grandmother's GGG grandmother. I would like a copy of that photo if you still have it on file with permission to include it in this book which will be published. I will give you credit for the photo if you include your name and address. Thanking you in advance as I am with regards,

Thanks so much for allowing folks to use your photos. It is great to be able to share with family! And thank you for your work in the cemeteries- so wonderful to know where our ancestors are "quietly resting."

Christine,

Thank you for making the links. I also recommended changing the birth year to reflect Isabella's mother's death date as seen on her tombstone. The mother dies during the birth. The given name of Isabella is found on the 1860 census when Isabella was staying at her aunt Sarah's plantation, Mildendo. You will note that she is not recorded with her siblings at Sylvan Hill. I can do a bio for her if you like.

Regards and happy new year,
Jim Hutcheson

Thank you!
Thank you for your quick response to my request for a photo of Lydia Hoadley. This will help us with the DAR application.

The story of Mary's husband & his 1st wife.
I am a relative of Mary Talbott Edwards, albeit many generations back, and I find the story regarding Elizabeth Tuttle, her demeanor, her family's history of mental illness & arguments with her husband to be inappropriate & actually in poor taste to add to Mary's memorial at Find A Grave! How can we clean this up?
