Brian W

I grew up in Davie County NC, on a farm, though more of a hobby farm than a working farm. We kept cows and a few horses with the occasional chicken, turkey, duck, goat, or pig. And we always seemed to have at least 2 dogs at all times. I have a sister who is two years older than me and who has moved out to Washington state, though she may possibly move back in the near future to the east coast. My parents, though no longer together, both live around the Winston-Salem area of NC. I have been living in VA since I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1999. Been living in the Roanoke Valley area since then. I got married to a lovely woman in 2007 and we had our first child in 2009 and our second in 2010. Having 2 small kids keeps us busy.

Also, my family owns some property in Carroll County VA which has a graveyard on it. I came to find out recently that some of the buried there are my great^4 and great^5 grandparents on my father's mother's side. These go by the name GOAD. Most grave markers are just unmarked stones, but I found a list of names through various sites on the internet.

Also I have many ancestors in the Floyd County area and I have recently located some of their graves.

I love finding and looking at old pictures of ancestors and distant relatives.
