I'm 88 years old and have Parkinsons so I no longer drive. We have a very good research library here in Boise but I am unable to help anyone. I've been researching my family for 50 years and thought I was through, and then I discovered FAG. Now I spend my day making memorials for my extended family - putting all my research to good use. 6/27/2014

Only explanation I have for misspelled surname is I am lousy typist and make mistakes. Spelling has been corrected on memorial.

I'm in the middle of a major career change, and am finishing up some last few commitments to my previous employer, teaching two last courses this coming week and next. I should be able to get over to you to pick up the papers within the next couple weeks. If you want to e-mail me a phone number, I'll call you to set up a time. dhabben@aol.com.

I have no idea. Contact the F.A.G. admin. There is no way that I or anyone else can block you from using the edit tool as long as you're logged in.

RE: James Collier/Lamb
Wilda..I believe you are right..to use an old expression, I think the children "scattered to the four winds". You've done a wonderful job of connecting the Collier descendants in Garrard County with their ancestors. If I can ever be of help to you with revisions, links or transfers please don't hesitate to contact me either by message board or email. I have enjoyed our chats. Regards, Laura.

RE: James Lamb
Wilda..I have updated the memorial concerning Mr. Lamb's parentage and I hope it meets with your approval. If there is anything you would like to add or subtract, please let me know. As a side note, I ran across someone in the Shearer/Sherrow line with the same occupation listed for Kitty Collier on her marriage record listed on the Shearer/Sherrow woman's marriage record, too. I doubt the women, themselves, would have announced that as their occupation, esp. while applying for a marriage bond/certificate, though. It is more likely that they were illiterate and the registrar entered their occupation and they were unaware of the fact. By the same token, I have also seen that occupation listed on census records by the census enumerator in Garrard County. The officials in Garrard County evidently believed in calling "a spade, a spade"! Regards, Laura.

Thank you Wilda for the clarification. It really helped.

I've made correction to my database. (I'm documenting all the vets at Riverside, per Fairmount Heritage Foundation request).

It is interesting what the stones say versus what the records state (when I find them).

Thanks much,

RE: James Rothermel
I have a major love of history and of cemeteries. If you want to send me the files I'll do the best I can. I'm in transition with jobs right now and may not be traveling as much in the future. My mailing address is PO Box 15555, Boise, ID 83715.

RE: James Rothermel
As much as I would love to help, I travel extensively in my work and am only home a few days a month. There is no way I could do the job you are doing.

RE: James Collins
I'm sorry. I have no idea where I got "James" Collins from.
