I had asked for a photo of my aunt's headstone in the past and you and your sister looked over the cemetery looking for me. I wanted to thank you for the trouble that you went to. I have learned that she was cremated thank you again for the time you spent.

Kathy, I think I have found the reason you were looking at the William Casper Kinchen family and posted the newspaper article about his being 103 (which I don’t think he was HA). I noticed on your messages when I was writing you the name Annie McAlpin – for some reason it stuck in my head. Now you may already know all this but, this is a big breakthrough for me...
Annie McAlpin was the 2nd wife of William Thomas Beggs. His 1st wife was Luvena ‘Vena’ KINCHEN. She was the daughter of old Casper Kinchen. William Thomas Beggs and Vena Kinchen married in Jan 1894 in McNairy Co TN .. but I could find nothing about Vena after that. BUT finally in the 1900 census I find that William Thomas Beggs is widowed with a 5 year old son, John E Beggs, born March 1895. In the 1900 census they are living next to Vena’s brother's family, William Robert Kinchen ... and next to him is old father Casper Kinchen on the other side. But on Widower William T Beggs’ other side lives the James McAlpin family with a daughter Annie who is 14, born Feb 1886. Four years later, in Nov 1904 Widower William Beggs marries his young next door neighbor Annie McAlpin. I wonder if Annie babysat his young son while he worked HA...
In the 1910 census William T Beggs and Annie McAlpin Beggs have had several children... William T 1905, Howard Eugene 1907, Lurleen 1909 and then there’s a 14 year old Robert, not John E, but Robert. I first thought William and Vena had had a second son before she died, BUT the 1920 census shows a 24 year son, John R, Vena's son!! In the 1930 census William and Annie have added three sons, Ina L age 9, Clinton A age 7, and Jesse age 4. There may be more children but I haven’t found the 1940 census... Hope this isn’t too confusing and helps clear your mind about why you were looking in the Kinchen cemeteries.

Well hello cousin! I have a tree on Ancestry. I am currently in the process of starting another one on there because it's a mess. I didn't know what I was doing when I started and I merged with a lot of trees that have inaccurate information. My email address for Ancestry is firstname.lastname@example.org and it's the Hill, McAlpine, Kern, Brockmeyer tree. But go back and check the Hill Family Tree (New & True). That is where I am fixing it and adding pictures. I met up with some McAlpines here in a cemetery and we have been exchanging info and photos!

Kathy, thanks so much for the grave photo for Lou Ada Chandler in Mount Moriah Cemetery. I do appreciate it!...
I am still trying to figure out the Kinchen family and really do appreciate your efforts in reading the memorial and adding the information. I really dislike seeing an infant or child's memorial with no links to its parents!
You said you wish you could remember WHY you were looking at the Kinchens in that cemetery - I think I know WHY ... You added several newspaper articles to Casper Kinchen's memorial about his being 103 that you must have found and thought interesting and you took the trouble to post them on his memorial! Thanks so much for doing that!! BUT I think his memory must have been a little off - in checking I have found his birth date and age on censuses to be quite different. To be 103 when he died his birth year would have been 1813 - but on one census it was 1827 and another 1834... but to give him credit, someone else may have given those dates and ages to the census taker! HA
Thanks again for all your help!

I do not know. His Soc Sec Death Index record shows last residence as Ramer, McNairy, TN. Some trees in Ancestry show death in Carthage which is in Smith County. Good luck on your hunt.

Hi Kathy... Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I'm not sure about Jessie's date of birth. He was my uncle so I'm thinking it would be the 1915 date and I'm pretty certain 1971 death date is correct. How are you related to the Beggs family? Have you looked at the family tree on Ancestry.com? My niece and I are currently trying to get a complete and correct tree done and any info you have would be helpful.
I'd love to hear anything you know as my dad, Clinton Ardeen Beggs, didn't share a lot of family history with any of us kids.
Is there a way to contact you privately?

Annie was my fathers mother and I never knew her. But I see only some of her children listed. My dad was Clinton Ardeen Beggs but his other brothers, Johnnie and Jesse are not listed. Do you know why?
