Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am now a ninety year old mother, grandmother, gr-grandmother, and recently a gr-gr-grandmother. On my 80th birthday my grandkids were ask to share what they remember about grandma. Because I realized they didn't know much about their ancestors, I decided to write down what I remembered of the stories that were told to me as I was growing up. That lead me to contact the Sequoia Genealogical Society.

Volunteers taught me how to find more than 100 years of local family history from the Tulare City Libraries Genealogical Collection.

One volunteer, a retired school teacher taught me, fourth grade style, how to search the Internet on the computer. That year my daughter and grand children gave me a computer for Christmas, and I was off and flying and now I added Find a Grave to my activities.

When you visit one of my memorials please leave a flower. I appreciate it when you say what relation, if any, to a person.

Because of my age I would like to transfer some of my memorials. For many of them, I am not a direct descendant, and I prefer to transfer to direct descendants. There are a few occasions where I will make an exception. I will not make any transfers unless you leave a flower and a note.

Dear Mrs. Audrey DeCamp Hoffman,

Just a note to say hello and ,mostly a big THANK YOU.

On your kin and memorials you may want to preserve them as the DAR/SAR, Masons/Order of the Eastern Star would like that and them. Attention to detail is more than a few words it is actions taken for documentation.

"The West is the Best yet the East is a Feast. You made all the families meet"

Always seeing more Camps , De Camps , Hoffmans from the original Provinces especially in Virginia, Pa., East and West Jersey, etc..
Most do not even know Burlington was New Jersey Capitol. You did.

On the double county seats . A total of 33 Counties in the US States have that. Yes same as the Masonic degrees.

Your love, care, attention to detail is extra special and so well done.

GBY < :><~~

Regards and love to you and your families,

Jonathan Robert De Mallie

Hi Audrey,

Thank you for creating the memorial for my ancestor, Gilbert De Clare. It is an impressive memorial and I will certainly understand if this is one of the memorials you just can't give up but you did send this message to me:

"Billie, as you come across other direct ancestors, leave a flower and contact me. I might be willing to transfer more. I am 90 years old and I need to transfer more of my memorials to someone that my live longer than me."

RE: St.. James Church and Churchyard Burials
Hi Audrey

Nice to get your message. I've been researching the Perrings of South Devon (and those that moved away) for over 20 years now and have a database of nearly 4,000 individuals. As part of this research I have visited many of the churchyards in South Devon, searched for Perring graves and photographed and recorded them. It was always of concern that I had all this information on Perring graves but nowhere to store it for the use of others. Then I discovered Findagrave and transferred all my information on Perring graves so they would be available for all. Part of this were the Perring graves at Slapton. It's a part of Devon I always loved as a child and seemed drawn back there. Then my research started and I found my great great grandparents lived there!

The problem with Slapton is the virtual impossibility to park a car there within close range of the church. I retired 3 years ago and, as a retirement present, bought a new touring motorbike my pride and joy. I've passed by Slapton several times whilst out on a ride but not visited the churchyard since taking the photos. Must visit again next time I'm down that way and see if there are any more Perring graves. Nice thing is that I can park my bike at the entrance to the churchyard!

Again thanks for the message. Take care.

Possible Ancestral Transfers
Hello Audrey,
Thank you for your gracious offer to possibly transfer my ancestors. I will make a point of it very soon, to go out and find those memorials again. Usually when I find them and identify they are my ancestor I leave some sort of flower, but I didn't on some when I was just getting started.
Thanks again.
