I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my family and my husband's family for 35+ years. We have traveled quite a bit to find ways around my "brick walls" and have been to lots of cemeteries and taken lots of pictures. I'm glad to have a chance to share some of this information on Find A Grave. My husband, Jim, deserves credit for all of the pictures as he patiently visits cemetery after cemetery with me.|
PLEASE if you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, email me. I will be glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible.
I am doing Find A Grave work to honor our ancestors and, hopefully, to help others find information on their own ancestors. The pictures that we have taken may be used by families and descendants. However, pictures taken for 19th and 20th Indiana soldiers have been taken for the 19th Indiana web site of Phil Harris and may NOT be posted on other web sites without my permission.
Thanks to all of you who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave. This is a great way to preserve information, and in doing so, preserve our past.
I found this letter in the bio of Bobby Jett and had to add it to my bio as well. Genealogists do indeed feel this connection.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Thank you for looking for their stones and at least confirming they are buried next to each other. Looks like you've taken photos all over...how did you end up in Liberal?
Thanks again for your time and efforts.

Thank you again for your help. You did a good deed and then just got caught in the snowballing effect when the memorials got mixed. Your work is necessary and appreciated. TDA

|TDA||RE: George W. Johnsons Evergreen Cemetery|
Thank you for the additional information. I couldn't remember the original death date for the other memorial, but 1932 was one of the things letting me know it wasn't my George. You took a wonderful picture of my George's marker and I appreciated it. But when the memorials were combined, it was moved too and didn't make it back from the 1932 George when the error was discovered.
Sarah is one of my George's daughters (my great aunt) and the other marker is her daughter( my first cousin ?x Removed). I guess that's why they have similar markers. I have a ticket open and they are working to get everything correct. Thank you for the date and your volunteer work. This genealogy stuff is hard work. :)

|TDA||4 George Johnsons|
The memorials you reported as duplicate are not the same man. There are about 150 Johnsons in this cemetery and 4 of them named George. The other picture which you took of my great grandfather's marker was mistakenly combined with an unmarked grave with no birth or death dates. I have been trying to untangle not just for my George's sake, but in case the other man would someday be identified. Right now his info is still combined and would lead a researcher astray unless he is also from Virginia which is unlikely. I don't blame you. I should have waited to request a photo until find a grave had cleared the other memorial back to its original death date and the rest unknown. Just an fyi of what is going on.

Thank you for your time in finding and getting my information and a picture of my grandfathers grave.
|Pat Fogle||Lola and Alvin Cullers tombstones|
Thank you so much for putting Lola and Alvin's tombstone pictures in the files. I've been researching the Cullers family for many years and try to put pictures with the files when I can find them to prove that they really did exist and I have done the research as completely as I can. You help is very much apppreciated. If you have any other Cullers or related family photos that are not in the Find-a-grave files, I hope you will someday find time to upload them.
Hi J&D Thank you for the photo's of John Williams. Hope your having a great weekend. Lloyd
