Bio and Links
Bio Photo Caught the genealogy bug 1998, can't seem to shake it. I enjoy my time helping others and it usually helps me in some way.

I've maintained cemeteries, repaired many tombstones, taken lots of photos, transcribed several cemeteries, and generally had fun.

Bernie Bruns
Dr Bernard Bruns (Civil War)
Hey Neil
I love the info on Dr Bernard Bruns from Westphalia. I am actually Dr Bernard Bruns DDS from Kansas City, (Via Chicago, Cincinnati, and Oldenburg, Germany). Ever since I found out that I was not the first Dr Bernard Bruns I have wondered how we may be related. I have been told that Bernd Bruns in Germany is similar to John Smith in America. I come from a long line of Bernd(Or Bernard when we got to America)Bruns. The Furthest I am able to find in Johann Bernd Bruns born 14 November 1776 in Visbeck, Oldenburg, Germany. His son Heinrich Joseph Bruns was born in Oldenburg 1814 and died in Cincinati, Ohio 1890 would be the one responcible for my direct line coming over. Maybe cousins somehow? Was Civil War Dr Bruns first name Johann? That would put him with the same name and 25 years off and 2 and a half hours away from my Johann?

RE: Tabitha Huff Bio
I searched findagrave by asking for a John Dooley dying before 1876. Got 3 results. John E. Dooley born 1847, died 1861, Dooley Cemetery, Miller Co MO. and Pvt John G. Dooley 1840-1863, Springfield National Cemetery, Greene Co MO. The other wasn't born close to Tabitha's birth date. Don't know if this information helps. Good luck, Louise

WALTER SMITH
Thank you for updating the information for Walter.
The memorial you created is great! Appears you might be related - would you like to have the memorial in Evans Cemetery transferred to you?
Always happy to keep memorials within the family whenever possible so just let me know.
