RE: Pvt. Thomas Benton Caldwell
Thanks for the message pertaining to the Caldwell article, interesting material. On another note, do you know anything at all about the burial whereabouts of the two Federal soldiers that were killed by Bushwhacker Jim Jamison that's related in the Monks book by Lou Wehmer and John Bradbury? The book states "about one mile west of Thomasville." My research partner Michael D. Harris and I have done a lot of research on Jamison, Bill Wilson, Anthony Wright, Dick Kitchen, One-Arm Brown, Duke Sumner, and many others, they all hailed from our neck of the woods in southern Phelps co. We plan to publish a book about these men as well as many others in the near future. Michael has a lot of info. on the "Texas and Mo. in the Civil War" message boards online. We went to Texas about a month ago following the footsteps of Jamison and Wilson in their post-war years, Wilson of course was murdered in Grayson Co. in 1869 and Jamison became a marshal in many Texas towns as well as a Texas Ranger before dying in 1906. Regards, Garrett

Hello, Just curious as to the photo of Pvt. Caldwell of Salem cemetery of Arkansas on Findagrave that you submitted. Do you have a larger or better copy? If so, would it be possible to use it for a future publication of a local history book that I plan for early next year? I would give you credit of course. The photo is an extremely rare example of what a Coleman "guerrilla" appeared as. I research heavily on the Civil War in Mo. from the Rolla,Mo area to Newport, Arkansas as it was a literal corridor of activity especially with bushwhackers and Coleman's command as you know of course. Regards, Garrett Gabel

Re; Memorial # 20634102
You took a picture for my relative .. It just shows the mother. I'm trying to find the father's grave. It allegedly is in Oregon, but I bet it is the other half of your picture. Would you mind sending me the picture of the full memorial to Thanks.

RE: Hero John S Johnson
Glad to do it. My father was a WW2 vet as well, a rapidly declining 'club'. I think anything the local VFW can do would be appropriate to honor him. Again, thank I appreciate you taking the time to take the photo. I know the cemetery is out in the country.
