The Recording of A Cemetery|
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely windswept hill:
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreaks of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time:
Lying under the trees and clouds-
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad Lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

My husbands grandmother, sister and mother, saved obituaries all their lives, pasted them in old sears books, they were saved from being tossed out and given to me. I paid my son 1 penny to paste them onto index cards. There are no newspaper names or dates. I've been sending them as I find that persons burial place. History saved for all, thanks to Rosella, Glover Criss Mildred Criss and Wilma Criss Whittaker
April 2014, I've been so fortunate to be given another huge tub of obituaries found in old house of elderly man who died and old newspapers. Many Many pictures (with no names), I'm trying to sort them out by family and find a way to add them online somewhere for all to see. I've scanned over 800 sets of old pictures obits etc. I'm adding them as I get them cropped and find the graves. So elated to do this for all who descends from those I find. If you find an obit added to an ancestor and you wish to have it please write to me and I'll gladly send it to you.

|David A Swiger||Kathryn Snow Tennant|
So, based on the info you gave me, Kathryn Snow Tennant's maiden name must be Liming, is that right?
|Olin E. Hartley||John Willis Lemley|
I added the obituary and attached his father. Sorry to say that I don't have a death date for Mary Elizabeth Wade Lemley.
|Mary Ann Fisher-Procopio||David Clark Core|
The photo you posted for David Clark Core is not the one for this memorial. I thought you would like to know. Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up. His death certificate had the wrong birth date, but I found his birth record and changed the date. I appreciate your help.
