Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Ruth (Wilson) Lowell. I was born in Inkerman,(now Baker) WV. My parents were the late Howard and Daisye (Combs) Wilson.

I have been interested in Genealogy since May of 1980. I became very interested when a man knocked on my door one day and asked if he could go over and talk to my dad. That they had told him up at Smith's store that if anyone knew anything about the older people around here my dad would.

The man had a large blue book with Book Of Remembrance written on it. I asked him where he got it and he gave the information so I could order one. It had pages just perfect for recording your family genealogy.

I knew when my mother and dad was gone I would need it. My main list of surnames are Wilson, Coby, Combs, Baker, Hines, Saville, Wilkins, Lowell, Toler, Litton, Parker, Shanholtzer, Teets, Hunter and Miller.

PHOTO USE: PLEASE, NO USING MY PHOTO'S WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! No use of my photos for any other website is given!!

I do not intentionally duplicate any ones entry, so if that does happen, please let me know and I will delete it, only if theirs has a lower memorial # than mine and the date added is before mine. In regard to duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred by Find A Grave rules.

Frederick Hunter
In the photo of Frederick Hunter, do you have any idea of who is in the old photo on the wall behind them?

Olivet Cemetery
Hi, I am looking at trying to get a picture that has already been asked for by another person back in 2014. I was wondering if you are close where you might be able to help us. The memorial is for
Jesse Cunningham #113976605.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. If by chance you can not if you know of someone else please let me know.

RE: John and Margaret Sandstrom
Thank you for your kind words.
To date I corrected some 8000 (!) errors, typos, etc. Willliams (3 lll), Jonse (Jones). Antionette (AntOInette), etc etc etc. The list is endless...
And then there are people FIGHTING over a bad spelling "It is on the gravestone!". Well, who could read and write (correctly) 100 or more years ago?
A wonderful site: Findagrave!
Have a nice day.

I have transferred the Wilson's to you. Look at my memorials, I have more Wilson's listed in Mercer and McDowell County, WV and Pike County Kentucky. If those are who you are looking for, I will transfer those also.

I have been doing my research since the mid 90's and have been addicted since. Sad to hear you had to have a Liver Transplant, but great to hear they found you one!

I noticed you are following the Saville's and Shanholtzer's. I transferred memorials I entered in Indian Mound Cemetery to you. I have no relations.

Paul west
Litton West Cemetery, Jackson Co Wv
My name is Paul West and I now live in Tn I was born i Wv in 1949. My family owns the West Litton cemetery where there are many graves with West and Litton names. The Beards were also related to us. Charlotte and Stella And Sudie Oly or Ohly Litton were sisters. Sudie was my paternal grandmother. My Father's name was Ralph Waldo West and he is also at that cemetery. His sister, my aunt, Maxine is also there. I have three sisters, Rebecca, Glenda, and Bethany who are all living. Can you point me in the direction of other West's in my family. I have some photos of the cemetery if they would be of value. Thanks, Paul West

Is Stoney Ridge now Greenwood?
Hi Ruth: My husband is the great-grandson of John E. and Hannah Frances Bean Wilson and the 2x great-grandson of Hayden and Lydia Hulver Wilson. We visited the Teets Wilson Cemetery several years ago and it was covered with berry bushes! Thanks to the folks who cleaned it up!!

In researching Hannah and John, years ago I found Hannah in Elkins, buried at Maplewood Cemetery.
The cemetery had no record of them on the same trip.

You show they in Stony Ridge Cemetery. You have Jehu's death certificate on John's listing. He was taken to Stony Ridge and is shown in the Greenwood Cemetery. Could Greenwood have been Stony Ridge in earlier times? I haven't been able to find Stony Ridge anywhere.

Thank you very much for your wonderful work!
