What a wonderful way to pay homage to those who came before us. Thank you, Findagrave, for making this possible and a big thank you to all of you who contribute information and photos!|
Please send all corrections and requests for transfers using the Edit tab - 'Suggest a Correction' function you will find on the memorial page. For transfers, please include your relationship to the person in your message.
I am usually willing to transfer if the person you are requesting is not a menber of my own family. I am very flexible with transfers and do not limit them to only to a direct line.
Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Any and all information that I have would be posted. Often I don't have date because the listings provided to me don't have dates. Sorry I can't be more of a help.

Thank you for updating her record. Bill Neff
Roger and Dorothy were nothing short of AMAZING people! Gayle did a great job with the obits/memorials. I believe Stanley and Seaforts is still one of the finest restaurants in this area, just have not been there in a while. I love that Roger was a pilot in the Navy! I can relate, as I worked with Navy fighter pilots during my time in the service. And the speed skater he was, how interesting.
My understanding of the name Iolaire is that it is Gaelic for bird, like an eagle. I came across it while studying my Scottish and Irish heritage, wanting to learn about the old language still spoken in those parts of the world. Need to work on my profile page - but not much to say, I'm just a volunteer for Find a Grave.

Your welcome! I love all the info you had about her! She is in Excellant hands! Sad though that she died so shortly after her only sons birth. I'm in the process of TRYING to track down where Etta's 2 daughters are buried. Are you a Godfrey relative of Stephans?
