Find a Grave has been a great resource for freely sharing information among researchers. I am rather concerned that Ancestry.com will figure out a way to screw it all up like they have with RootsWeb. I would like to think that they learned their lesson from all the negative publicity they received in that earlier takeover, but they are so focused on the Almighty Dollar that it's hard to predict -- their corporate greed overwhelms both their common sense and common decency. If they begin to charge or otherwise restrict access (mandatory registration or tracking cookies) in order to view the photos and data that have been freely donated by millions of volunteers, I know that I will immediately delete any of the items that I still have control over.|
You may freely use any of the grave photos which I have taken for any legal purpose. The other items (personal photos, obits and other documents) may have copyright restrictions of which I am unaware, so use your own best judgement on those.

Bob - You might want to talk to the folks at the cemetery office. Their records would show whether or not they have gravestones.
Is there any possiblity their are buried elsewhere/
Just back for Lakewood Cemetery. I searched carefully, but found only two Schleuder graves.

Bob: I have posted the photo request for the above with only the location. I have the cemetery map, plots, and books and there are no markers for any of the above. I photographed where they are buried and put in their names. The location is inside the 59th St gate to the left. Sorry, this is the best I could do...Rachel...

You're very welcome for the photos and Memorials. Based on Shannon's death cert. and CA Death Rec providing mother's maiden name, it was easy to see Shannon is buried next to his mother and three of the Burkes are his brothers and a sister. Good luck with your other projects ! Certainly sounds like you're very busy.
Well it appeared the whole plot was all Burkes (with possible exception of the Emmons). I went ahead and photographed them all and have created Memorials. Hope to get photos up tomorrow. The Burkes that were there included: William A, Lucinda T (Shannon's mother), David L, Wilhelmina R and Harry F. Also were Carrie Burke Nash, Beulah Burke Vose and Alice & Elijah Emmons. Sure made it a busy day :)

I hope you find out where she is. Maybe a will or probate records exist. She was most likely in a nursing home during her final years. Those facilities insist on knowing what pre-need arrangements have been made, so that they know who to contact when someone dies, in particular, if there are no close family members living in the area. If there are no close relatives of a resident who is in a nursing home, the court will appoint a conservator, whose duties include making sure that arrangements are carried out.
If a pre-arrangement with the cemetery was planned but not paid for in advance, and there was no money left in her estate to pay for it, then inexpensive arrangements may have been made such as cremation and scattering.
This information is by no means the only possible scenario, but is offered just to give you something to look into.
Her death certificate will indicate if she was living at a nursing home at the time of her passing, and will indicate the disposition of her remains, and also the name of the 'informant' [person providing information.]
Good luck, Bob.

You are so very welcome. It has been my pleasure.
|B.J. Waters||RE: Pearle Zimmerman|
Of course, Bob. And I will ask at the office in person. The public database is not the same one they have access to. And they can also manually check the old cardex system. I'll let you know what I find out.
|B.J. Waters||Pearle Zimmerman|
Hi again Bob. Pearle is not showing up on IPC's online grave locator (1974 to 2008). Are you sure she is buried there? If you can call to confirm that would be helpful. Maybe there is a reason she is not in their database.
|Don Green||Shannon Burke|
Have a location for Shannon and I'm told he is in a family plot containing 10 graves and all have markers. Not sure if all are "Burkes" or even if all are relatives. Your other two Burkes, Florence and Alene are not in this section. I'll transcribe all and photograph "Burkes" for you. If you'ld like I'll photograph all. Please let me know, I'll be up again next week.
