Bio Photo IMPORTANT NOTICE: Over the years I have left hundreds of memorial notes on Confederate veteran's FindAGrave memorial pages, using a particular Confederate Flag as a symbol. Recently I discovered that flag had been replaced with flowers. If you see one of my memorial messages left on a memorial page with flowers instead of the flag, please notify me so that I can make the appropriate changes.

Sons of Confederate Veterans Compatriot - Camp No. 1921 - The Tallassee Armory Guards.

Please feel free to use/share photographs and other historical information I've posted to memorials.

The Chattahoochee Valley Historical Society has endorsed FindAGrave and as a member of that society I have visited many cemeteries and added graves/memorials on its behalf.

I manage several hundred memorials in Chambers County, AL that Hank Rogers transferred over to me before he became inactive with F.A.G.

Also, most of the very old newspaper items on my memorials are through the courtesy of F.A.G. Member #47182102 who has painstakingly transcribed volumes of "The LaFayette Sun", the official newspaper of Chambers County, Alabama.

RE: Prathers
Thanks. I had seen the story about the orphanage (but had missed the pension request talking about how his wife Ellen had become a beggar. At least one of the daughters sent to the orphanage has a smiling face on her picture (Ora Louise: ) Maybe they had better surroundings than the family members who weren't sent to the orphanage. Will share anything else I learn - Claire

Prather Family
Thanks for your help. I sent some additional info on John Leonard Smith Prather and his children through that Memorial's "edit" page. I believe 2 sons were confederate soldiers (John Smith (V) and James Lawrence).

I am trying to learn more about John Leonard Smith Prather's wife. This is what I (think I) know:

-He met her when visiting his aunt Jane Prather Campbell in Wilkes County, GA.
- She is listed as Anne Lawrence Williams and is also referred to as Nancy or Nannie.
- Supposedly she was born in GA.
- a family history I have (and trees) list her parents as Christopher Williams of NC and Anne Lawrence

If you stumble across anything that might help, that would be much appreciated. Best, Claire Wadlington

Rev. A. C. Yeargan
I was going through some Alabama Death records on Familysearch and discovered one of my Oliver Cousins was married to Rev. A. C. Yeargan. The AL Death records has "Lotie L. Yeargan", d/o Seaborn Oliver and Nancy Dunn, and I had her as "Louisa Oliver", named after he paternal grandmother. She and Rev. Yeargan are buried in Daviston BC where her parents are buried. I made a correct on Find A Grave for her maiden name and linked her to her parents. I enjoyed reading your bio notes on Rev. Yeargan. Thank you again for all your hard work. - Robert Johnston in Wetumpka.

Waverly Cemetery

My husband and I took pictures of the whole cemetery. There is always the possibility that we missed one.

RE: Searching for Emeline Adams, daughter of Robert F Adams
Hi, Don,
I checked my research for the Robert F. Adams lineage. He married Mary Hammonds after his first wife, Mary Frances Abernathy died.

Robert F Adams and Mary Hammonds had 2 children, Warner Monroe (W. M.) and Maud Adams. Warner Monroe died at the age of 7 years. I see his grave there in Macdonia Cemetery.

However, there are no other immediate adult family members who match the W. M. and S. Adams noted on Eugenia E. Adams gravestone and there is no Robert D Adams in the lineage.

Robert F Adams siblings and parents are clearly identified in the trees with documents and none of them are a match for either W.M. and S. or Robert D Adams found above. Please feel welcome to view their lineage at under my Richetto Family Tree.

After reviewing the Robert F Adams family graves photographed and documented on Find A Grave for Macedonia Cemetery, I believe that Robert F Adams with his 2 wives, Mary Frances Abernathy and Mary Hammonds, and deceased young children, Eugenia E. Adams and W. M. Adams (Warner Monroe Adams, age 7) comprise those those individuals that are resting there since none of their other children preceded their parents in death. The other married children are located on Find a Grave; howver, they are buried with their spouses in other cemeteries.

Thank you for your investigation and thoughts on this. I think we may have identified an error in the memorial inscriptions for this family. What do you think?
