I have lived my entire life in the metropolitan Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa along the Mississippi River. I retired several years ago so now I finally have time to work on my family history.|
I am most intent on getting as many of my family members from my family tree added and connected then add as many as possible buried in local cemetries starting with Hampton Towhship Cemetery and Zion Lutheran up on the hill then the other Hampton Township cemeteries; Homeland, Bowlesburg and Carbon Cliff, then on to other local Illinois Quad City cemeteries.
I'm not interested in building an empire of memorials for the sheer sake of numbers as some people seem to be, as I'm much more lax over turning them over to family members. If they are your relatives and not mine then just ask, tell me your relation and they are yours.
I have spent many hours going thru every name in both the Biographical Record of Rock Island County, 1897 and the Portrait and Biographical Album of Rock Island County, 1885 to find matching memorials already in Find A Grave and when found these are added or sent to the owner of the memorial in hopes they will add the information to their memorial to not only give information on their lives but to assist other people in helping connect or create memorials.
My grand-niece AJ has been helping me on this, especially taking all the headstone photos for me.

This is a duplicate memorial. Your memorial has more informaiton, but it was created after the other one, so could you remove your memorial.

Thank you for Selinda's picture. She was the sister of my G G grandfather, David Burget.
Are you also related? Looking for a contact to persue further info on her. Looking to travel to Henry County Illinois in the next couple of weeks and would appreciate any leads on contacts in the area.
Thanks so much for transferring Betty to me. I was able to link her to my other family members and add her obit info. I was thrilled to find her! Thank you for adding her memorial to Find A Grave so I was able to do so.
Keep up the great work you are doing!

Hi, Was looking for your Tony and didn't find him yet but in the time I had did find Perry V 1896-1974 and Lois N 1908-2000 husband and wife. Are they of interest to you?
|deblfc||Molly Stowell Edwards|
Hi Bob & AJ,
I see that you sponsored her memorial. Would you like a transfer? I, too, do not go by the rules of relationship. She is my 1st cousin 6 times removed and I am assuming she married into your Edwards line. I an happy to give her to you if you would like. Thanks for the sponsorship. Good luck in the hunt!

|Busy Lady||MEMORIAL FOR AMANDA C. ANDERSON, RIVERSIDE, MOLINE, IL|
I work in the cemetery office of Riverside Cemetery. We have three Amanda Anderson's. One is Amanda J. One is Amanda C. and one is Amanda E. Your memorial page has much more information for Amanda C., but it is a duplicate and the other one has a photo of the stone verifying birth and death dates. Your memorial should be deleted since it was the second memorial.

I see your request for a photo of Ester's marker (as well as a few others). I will do my best to find it for you, but the date of death indicates it is very old. While many stones from that era still survive in the Elkton Cemetery, many, alas, do not. There seems to be an unusual number of 'Person Unknown' plaques, percentage-wise, in the cemetery,

Thanks :) I edited the picture and re-posted it. Would you please post the picture that you posted on Melissa's memorial #121187959 onto the memorial for her daughter Mattie as well #14303834. She is the little girl in the picture. I would really appreciate it.

|Pete Stingley||photo request|
Received your request for a photo. Elkton is very nearby (about 30 miles). I'll see if I can locate the headstone and get a photo for you soon.

Hi Bob & AJ, I originally posted this picture of my great-grandma on Ancestry.com, but didn't realize I spelled her middle name wrong on the photo. Her middle name is Electa, and I typed Electra on the photo. I wanted to edit my original photo and repost it. Would you mind removing it so I can repost it with the correct spelling please.
