Find A Grave Memorial# 11365105
Univ VA Confederate Cemetery headstone. Mr. Hutchison is there someone who can help me find my mothers Uncle who was in the Civil War. I have been to his stone before but cannot remember the number which was on it. I would like to see how I can get him an actual headstone for his place in the cemetery. I would like to order a headstone somehow, Thank you, Sue Knudsen

I am trying to find the actual location of the Mount Ebenezer Church Cemetery that Jeremiah Moreland is located in. I am hoping that since you created the Find A Grave record that you might actually know this info and be able to tell me how to get there. Fingers crossed!
Thank you Scott. Mizells grave was an accidental discovery we made when we went to Hollywood Cemetery.

|Al Linton||"The Union Rebel"|
It now appears that Find A Grave Memorial # 33849692 for John L. Furgason who was buried in the Old City Cemetery Lynchburg, VA was not a rebel as he enlisted with the 2nd NC Mounted Infantry which was an Union Army regiment consisting of men from Western NC and Eastern TN.
In Dec. 1863 he was captured near Cumberland Gap, VA and sent to the Lyncbburg, VA Prison Camp. He died in a Lynchburg hospital and was buried where both Confederate & Union casualties were interred and marked with a headstone. In 1866 250 Union remains were removed to Petersburg National Cemetery. When worker saw that his headstone indicated 2nd NC, they assumed that this was a Confederate regiment and his remains were left undisturbed.
