Bio Photo The human stories and history that can be found in cemeteries have facinated my husband and I for years. We are happy to share this facination with the Find A Grave community. Please contact us if you have any additional information to add to our memorials. Also, please feel free to use our pictures to enhance your family histories. A credit would be nice but not a requirement.

Eliza A. Davey Carkeek / #118376999
Hi Suzy & Rob.

Just a note about Eliza. Her maiden name should be "Davis". Yes , I know , Colorado records have her and her siblings as "Davy" , "Davey" , "Daveys" and sometimes , correctly , "Davis". Her sister , Elizabeth Grace Davis Oates , is my Great Great Grandmother , and believe me , we were going nuts , trying to figure out why all "Davey" searches produced nothing.

Hope this information is useful.
( Not looking for a transfer , just trying to help future genealogists. )

RE: Thomas Norman Orton
Thank you for your response. Thomas Norman Orton was indeed married to Sarah Ann Penton. His birth date is February 1827. He has a younger brother William Henry Orton born in March of 1829. He died in Charleston on Sept 8, 1854. The Lewes tombstone is badly faded but close inspection reveals 1854. The birth date of 1829 was probably calculated from picking up the death date as 1856. You can see an earlier recording of this information with the proper death date on Tatnall Delaware Tombstone Records. She had two Orton children, a daughter Georgiana, aka Minnie, and a son Thomas H. Orton.

Jerry
Fort Whipple Cemetery, AZ
Thanks for your suggestions on this cemetery. I started making the adjustments/deletions and hope to complete the project in the next couple of months. I don't want to see all the time I spent in research to be for naught.
Regards,
Jerry

Suzy & Bob,

This is the person that created the memorial Cemetery Secretary. Created several memorials for Congress and never took care of them.

Thanks,
Sharla
