John Hostetler
RE: Connection to Jesse G. Hostetler?
Hostetler and Miller are both good Amish names, so much so that many people use DJH material to research Miller names. As far as Jessee G., I don't know of one, but I'm sure that there is more than one in Elkhart County. I remember when I was a kid going through Warsaw to Winona Lake and seeing a store "Hostetler's Floor Covering".

Good Luck

Thanks, Jason, for adding the short bio to Catherine's Find-A-Grave memorial. It makes it a little more interesting to find out where our ancestors originally came from.

RE: Elkhart Co., IN Long family
Hi,Jason!

Thank you for your message. I am doing research on my Long family history. I am now starting to work on my greatX3 grandparents Isaac and Martha Jane (Gilbert) Long. With each generation, I am gathering the primary documents to verify my facts. Isaac was born in PA in 1820. He moved with his family to Benton Township, Elkhart Co in the late 1840's. My greatX2 grandfather Jacob William Long(1839-1911) lived in Elkhart until about 1876 when he and his family moved to Nebraska. My great grandfather Isaac D. Long was born in Millersburg in 1866 and died in Colorado in 1954.

In the 1860 Census, Isaac Long was listed right after Jacob and Anna Long who were about 67 years old. I assumed that they were related. What information do you have to question whether Isaac is related to Jacob and Anna Masden Long? Any information that you can provide would be so helpful! I am also wondering if you are related to Jacob and Anna Masden Long?

Thank you again for helping me with this!
