Brzezinski Friend
Walk St. Casimir

My Brzezinski Friend and I found this site the other day when we were searching for her Schultz ancestor's head or foot stones. We noticed there were no photos of those grave markers and wondered about walking the cemetery in the Spring of 2015 to document ALL of the graves as well as provide a GPS mapping for each. Any suggestions of how to do this in the most efficient way? I've been working on my own genealogy since 1977 but want to do this as a favor to some Special Krakow People.

RE: Edward F. Bedan/Bedaine/Bedine
Hi Terry,
Thank you so much for offering to help, I am so stuck on this part of my family and I have on one left to ask.

This is all I have:
Mary M Mayor, I have the same info on her marriage to Edward, I am not able to find anything on her parents or Edwards in France.

1860 census the spelling of the last name is Bidden but the census of names is all in the same writting so I assume it was written by the census person,
Mary shows being born in Kentucky, they had one child Mary age one. Mary's birth year shows as being 1836. Lives in Lafayette, Floyd, Indiana.
Edward is employed as a cooper.

1870 census again written by one person, the spelling of the last name is Bidson, they now have children Mary 1859, Paul 1861, Victoria 1862 (my great grandmother), Lewis 1864, Joseph 1867, Julia 1868. Birth showing approx 1835/1836. Lives in Georgetown, Floyd, Indiana.
Edward is employed as a cooper.

1880 census, the spelling of the last name is now Bedan, and they had 3 more children, Edward 1872, John 1876, Louesia 1878. Birth year 1836
Parents from Belgium, lives in Lafayette, Floyd, Indiana. Edward is employed as a farmer

1890 Census, spelling Bedan, Mary is now widowed, different birth year Oct. 1832, now showing another son Eneda 1880, also states she was born in Indiana, parents from France. I am only to assume this is the same person because of the names of the children. However son Eneda is not listed prior.
I am not able to find anything on Edward after the 1880 census. Lives in Lafayette, Floyd, Indiana.

Edward, the only info other than the above census is:
possible application for citizenship/arrival year Dec. 1854, March 1867
Civil War draft registration 1863 to 1865 residency Lafayette Indiana, married.

Now for the confusion:
Its hard to tell if the markers you have are together. The spelling of last names are different Mary M is Bedan, Edwards is Bedaine spelled the same as when he first came to America.
They did have a daughter Julia who passed away early as you can see from the census. You show a grave stone for Julia with the last name spelling Bidaine. You cannot make out the date of death from the picture.

Their son John is listed as a child with the last name spelling Bedan however the other children last name is spelled Bedaine.

When I click on Saint Mary of the Knobs Cemetery, I typed the different spellings. John is the only one listed under Bedan.
Under Bedaine, there is an Edward, Julia, Marie, Mary Louise, and Louise all showing the correct years of birth with above census records.

I have found on ancestry is the US cities directory and not sure if this is part of the confusion. From 1919 to 1933 there are listings for a Edward Bedan and Mary M Bedan showing Mary as being widowed and living in New Albany Indiana. This would make Mary to be about 100 so it can't be the same Mary and Edward Bedan. But you can see my confusion.

I am not able to find anything more on Mary with either birth year.

I live close to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, by the pittsburgh Airport if I can ever help you with anything please let me know.

Thank you for the help

Edward F. Bedan/Bedaine/Bedine
Hello Terry, I was wondering if you know anything about the grave memorial #65156706
I believe this to be my great great grandfather Edward F. Bedan and his wife Mary M Bedan (Mayor). However the spelling on the grave is Bedine, the family links listed this person to be Edward Franciouse Bedaine. Two of the children listed are correct for my grandfather.
When he married Mary Mayor the spelling of his last name was Bidaine. The grave lists Mary M Bedaine as his wife who was born in Kentucky, The family links lists his wife as Marie Jeanne Dulieu Bedaine Not consistant to the Mary M.
Do you possibly have any information on this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
