While there are many wonderful things I could say about my history with Genealogy and much use and helpfulness of Find A Grave, I must also use this space to let everyone know I do have a great respect for these persons and memorials. TRANSFER GUIDELINES AND REQUESTS

Read the Transfer Guidelines THOROUGHLY! If your Transfer Request falls outside of the Guidelines, I used to (as a courtesy) consider each on an individual basis but that consideration has ceased. Reason being, I had a really bad experience with another "contributor" who was very pushy and forceful about a clearly out-of-guidelines transfer (he wasn't even claiming any kind of family connection whatsoever)!
Therefore, effective Sunday, July 17, 2011, no out-of-guidelines Transfer Requests will be honored (NO EXCEPTIONS). That especially includes requests where no family connection is claimed at all! So don't even think about wasting my time with these bogus out-of-guidelines Transfer Requests ... I am perfectly capable of adding/editing any information to the memorials I manage, thank you!

DUPLICATE MEMORIALS / PHOTOGRAPHS

"Before adding a memorial, you should search to see if a record with that name has already been added."

If a memorial has incomplete or incorrect information, do not create a duplicate memorial! Use the Suggest A Correction link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial.

"You are able to delete duplicate copies of records that you have created."

There are too many duplicate photos of the same person/gravemarker/gravestone appearing on a lot of the memorials. Please check to see if there is one already posted, before submitting one.

if you create a duplicate and then ask for the one I made, I will request that you delete your duplicate first, then I will make record of what happened... including a copy of the memorial that I created in the first place.... then happily transfer it to you. Periodically I will go back to visit the memorial. Too many times has my work been removed after I transferred it. Should this happen, I will report this to Find A Grave.

The individuals memorialized on Find A Grave meant something to somebody, and I do not take that lightly.

All "Virtual Flowers" that I put on memorials are genuine, and from the heart, whether I knew that individual or not.

Also, I was raised with good manners, and I require good manners in any Find A Grave correspondence sent to me! I apply the golden rule here: you get what you give!
(I do keep emails to show what went on).

NAMING CONVENTIONS

"Unless the legal name contains a hyphen ... punctuation should not be included in the memorial name.
I will enter the names as I see them or as they're recorded from my source. If you have information to change the name please provide a verifiable source, that I can document in the Memorial and I will list both.

SUGGEST A CORRECTION
=====================================
Use the "EDIT" tab at the upper right of memorials.
Do not enter SAC information through "Leave A Public Message", on a "Photo Caption", or as a "Virtual Flower" on any of the memorials I manage.

There is an allowable 30 day time frame to act on SACs, so one notice to me is sufficient. Please, do not send more than one message. I get to them as soon as I can, even if that means it takes longer then 30 days. due to the number of requests I get, it does take a long time to work them all. I apologize for this.

I do receive too many SACs stating:
"A Find A Grave visitor has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for .....
This suggestion was submitted by someone who was not logged in to Find A Grave, so we cannot provide a link to their contributor profile."
Do not send me any Messages/Suggestions unless you are logged into Find A Grave, otherwise your Messages/Suggestions will be disregarded and deleted ! (NO EXCEPTIONS)
